An authentic Romanian restaurant. Staff very friendly contrary to what you might read below, speaking a perfect English. Food excellent, typical Romanian comfort food - its winter after all. A good selection of local wines. The plum brandy has to be sampled, just don't drive afterwards. The dancers looked like they felt awkward so kudos to them for being fantastic... More

I've just visited the place. We took some sausages as starter and I've took some Romanian dish for main course. Food and service has been good.

We went there for a family lunch. The place is clean, the staff and the food are average. Rather high prices, no remarkable dishes. However, a decent place.

Have been there in a group of 10 and sat in the basement. The building is recently refurbished and has generous spaces, both on the ground floor and in the basement. It is really a pleasure to see some of the old buildings in the area regaining their grandeur. Service and food though are average. There is nothing special in... More

Beautiful food and wine and very fast service. This was my first taste of Romanian food and it did not disappoint! Gorgeous filling hearty food and lots of it! Unfortunately we got the impression that once we'd finished our food they wanted us out of there. The staff were hanging around and watching us in a way that wasn't comfortable... More

Great variety of foods, mostly local dishes, fresh and perfectly cooked, in a Romanian rural home-style setting (usptairs) and Crama/Wine Cellar downstairs. If you are a couple looking for a romantic dinner, or a family or group of friends or team - try it. The eggplant salad was well seasoned and tasty, the peach palinca amazing and the polenta perfectly... More

We visited Vatra restaurant last Friday, we ordered for our main course pork ribs and tradition kebab. Both dishes where very tasty and service was great. The restaurant is nice decorated and couple dancers are dancing a short traditional dance. Pricing are average or maybe above average.

We were in the Vatra-Restaurant to try typical rumanian food in a classic atmosphere. After comparing some reviews at TripAdvisor we decided to try the Vatra and it was a good choice. The waiters are friendly (this is not a matter of course in Rumanian restaurants!), have good manners and understand the English language. The food was quite delicious, fresh... More
