We stumbled upon this restaurant on our first night.. It was not very busy at the time we arrived. But the service was slow the meals took long to come to the table the portions where small and disappointing. The wine arrived almost when we had finished our dinner. The only plate we enjoyed was the smoked pork with beans.

We had dinner here one night. The menu was filled with interesting dishes but several of them was not possible to order. Had a bacon and white bean soup and then some sort of pork dish as a main course. Tasty food, and as one in our party is Romanian - rather typical Romanian food. They have musicians who play... The atmosphere is very typical and I found it enjoyable - the waiters even play some live Romanian music. Service is very kind and food is good. I had a beer, a soup and a main course and I spent 43 lei (10€) so I was very satisfied.

Strange place. The exterior, interior and staff are dressed for Mexican/text me food when it is actually Romanian style food. The staff were friendly and service fast. Food wasn't very hot when it came out but was tasty. I wouldn't go back but have no issues in two.mending someone to go and try it out.

This is a really hard review to write. The interior of the restaurant makes you think it'll be a tex-mex place but it serves enjoyable Eastern European fair. Two members of staff were standing outside when we enquired about places to eat, we were told there was a wide choice in the old town! We had to ask if we... More

It may have been only my luck so far, however, every time I go back to the old country and the city of my childhood, I stop for a meal or just desert at this place. It never disappointed me yet. Last September I had only a nice serving of "papanasi" which is one traditional sweet dish, garnished with jam... More

Hotel was down the road from the restaurant. The waiter was really helpful, made great suggestions which we really enjoyed. Hotel was busy as it was Romania's national day. Worth a visit!

Casa Gorjana is located 5 minutes away from the Old City Center of Bucharest. Nice clean facilities. Rich menu with Romanian specialties. Excellent soups, great papanasi. Average plus quality without being too fancy. Not expensive. Worth a stop.
