The things that caught my eye entering the restaurant were the wooden dwarf-like round tables and chairs and the metal stove. Immediately I had the feeling of warmth and comfort that the small kitchen of my late grandfather was giving me when I was just...More

Before travelling there I heard a lot about Kafana. I was expecting something more delicious but I was dissapointed. The soup was not good formy taste. Goulash was too oily but above all these the staff was very rude. There was only one kind of...More

Went in here because it was recommended by our tour guide during the free walking tour. Beautiful architecture, being one of the oldest taverns around, and the food was great. I especially loved the Ajvar dip (slightly spicy roasted bell pepper dip) and the home...More

The menu is typical for the Balkans - hearty food, not for the faint of heart. Wines and spirits are also Serbian. We liked both, and the Šlivovic was a delight. But what took the biscuit was the (house) band playing songs of love and...More

Delicious barbecue in a typical Serbian kafana. Service was quick and we were very satisfied with the dishes.

Food was delicious, huge portions, mostly based on meat. Waiters are polite, friendly, helpful, usually all of them are older but all speak English. Restaurant from inside looks really authentic with small old tables and chears, you can seat also outside in garden. Recommend.

Question mark is a typical Serbian Kafana in a very centric spot of the city. For what I have been told, is most of the most famous ones. Authentic tavern where traditional food (and abundant) and drinks are served.
