I can't believe this place has so many outstanding ratings. We went for dinner and we strongly discourage anyone from going there. The staff was not welcoming at all and simply borderline rude. None of the famed Serbian hospitality to be found here. My starter...was merely warm and the fries that came with the main course were cold. It might have tasted OK at the right temperature, hard to to tell.More
Visited tonight after arriving yesterday from London. We really enjoyed the food and were happy to see that our server Mira was still there. She was amazing and so friendly, we managed to have a chat tonight as it being Monday wasn’t very busy. Thank...you Mira Hvala na ljepoj usluziMore
Great local cuisine located in the side streets of the center (google gave us hard time to find it).Visited for lunch after exploring the city and worth it as the dishes were local and tasty with some soup options as well. The service was also...very professional.More
Terrible. I had a terrible night afterwards, feeling very very sick and even fainted in the bathroom. 24 hrs later the symptons have not yet gone. More than a review, I am writing a medical bulletin. They must have received some bad supplies, because we...have been here some other times, one year ago, and it wasn't such dramatic experience. My friend experience the same.More
We have visited the restaurant several times in the last 2-3 years, a typical Serbian tavern with excellent cuisine and you can hardly find a free table for dinner. This year we were greeted by an extremely rude attitude from the waiter who served our...table. He brought us disgusting shop salads , prepared from lunch and stayed, the grill and the baklava were on a level, the drinks too. A nice restaurant, but we will hardly visit it again because of the terribly rude and bad attitude of the waiter in question... and I'm sure they keep tables for the locals and that's why they don't let you inside the restaurant, they keep you outside while they supposedly check for free tables and in general from all the visits to Mikan, the attitude of the staff is not good or kind and this spoils a lot of the good image of the restaurant. No I would recommend it to friends and I wouldn't visit it again, because we go and pay there and we don't have to put up with such a rude, disrespectful and bad attitude from the waiter!!!More
The waiter was clearly sick! Coughing repeatedly and wiping his nose with his bare hands in front of customers, then touching silverware! Do not eat here!
Classic restaurant with national dishes. Good soupes and big portions. The prices are not for locals, for sure. However, we recomend it
One of our favourite restaurants in Belgrade, though it’s been a while since our last visit. We eat lamb here. Their slowly (for hours) cooked lamb dish is so tender that you hardly need a knife for enjoying it. For the sidedish I recommend oven...baked potatoes with kajmak (sort of a cottage cheese). If they are out of lamb, try goat made the similar way. It’s even more delicious. Or (if you are not British) try horse beef. Mikan has two terraces: One in the pedestrian street and the other one in the yard. The restaurant looks comfortably like a Balkanese village tavern.More
Food is great, traditional, but great. Prices very reasonable. Service is slow and could be much improved. I will surely come back
People in Serbia clearly do not want tourism. We visited Belgrade with almost 20,000 tourists in the context of the euroleague final four and wherever we went (there were a few exceptions) we did not feel welcome anywhere. The behavior of the employees in the...restaurants and cafes was unacceptable. They were bothered by the work and the money we provided them generously. But the highlight of all was in this restaurant. We arrived with a group of 7 people to eat at 10:00 pm on Saturday night and the man who served us was very rude and obviously annoyed that this was happening. During the order he constantly grimaced at us and was generally not at all willing to serve. After a while, while we wanted to enrich our order and increase the bill, he refused to do that with excusion that the kitchen was closing while there were still 30 minutes left. Really tragic experience. Too bad for the Serbs because they are a brotherly people and very close to our Greek temperament. For sure, this behavior to the tourists does not provide Serbian hospitality.More
Visited the restaurant last night with family from London. It was absolutely lovely from start to finish. The food was really good and our server Mira (Mirjana) could not do enough for us, she was absolutely brilliant and looked after us all night. She is...an asset to the restaurant and so friendly. When we come back to Belgrade we will most certainly go back. Well done to all especially Mira , thank you.More
My family and I dined at this restaurant based on reviews from Trip Advisor, and we were not disappointed. Belgrade continues to dish out palate pleasers without fail (mind you this is only my second time to this city.. but still). We are a family...of 6, which includes twin 2 year olds and two teenagers- everyone was beyond satisfied. We had also met up with local friends who too were pleased. Our waitress was gracious and kind and we were able to reserve a space in the elusive non-smoking area of the restaurant. An overall pleasant experience. We will definitely be back.!More
The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant, the staff is friendly and the food is more than delicious. Barbecue or fish, no matter what you chose, you can not go wrong. We always return to Mikan, with special joy.
First of all, the service was exceptional. They cared about everything being perfect. Secondly, food was amazing; delicious, well cooked and on time. The prices are also great. We loved it and we will definitely come back. We’d recommend it 100%
