Good to hear Bohemian music and hand around with friends in a casual setting including a nice large patio. Food is pretty standard.

i was lucky enough to visit el garabato on a rare evening. tango night. apparently, there is a certain day (either wednesday or thursday) during the month where you can take free tango lessons under the tutelage of an asian tango dancer. strange? of course. but he is very talented. as for the food, if you want a true taste... The restaurant has a great atmosphere - outdoor sitting, nice interior, pleasant music. The food is typical nicaraguan, which I'm not the greatest fan of, but if you want to get inside the country's cuisine, it is the best place. My favourite thing about El Garabato are their desserts, especially one of them - caramelized banana with cinnamon and scoop... More

Like many restaurants in Managua, you can sit in the open air. Opted for the many appetizers instead of a main meal, which was largely either filet or fajitas, of beef or chicken. Enjoyed the nacatamal, which is a tamale in a banana leaf and empanadas. And ice cold Tona. The restaurant is a nice area and also sells local... More

We had a good time for a couple of beers. The best place to do so is the restaurants garden. Unfortunately, there is no service available in the afternoon, only inside the restaurant is possible to have drinks and food service.

On Monday April 19th. I was invited by friend to have dinner in this Rest.First time ever and bottom line I really enjoyed. I was surprised that our waiter set up our red vine in a bucket(like the white). i think it was ok due to Managua weather (HOT). The food was very testing.

I LOVE el garabato! I went there not too long ago. Being a vegetarian it is hard to pick out things without meat but since their menu is in english and specifically indicates which are vegetarian, it was a breeze. The feeling of the restaurant is very nice. There is also a great little shop! Also on my way back from... More

Come for the nice outdoor seating outback, or to see some live music. Bring your friends from out of town, or come if you want a taste of Nicaragua and you don't have a lot of time, nor the stomach to go to a fritanga. Food is OK, service is OK, the ambiance makes up for the deficiencies in both.
