Guide in Choco museum recommended. Pretty rustic design but in a good way. Menu on the wall. Adobado (pork) plus Gallo priced Q45. Huh. It's cheap and hungry passed by ...

Cheap and awesome food. For less than $5 more food than I could eat and a beer. They cook the chicken right there and the smell is incredible!

We ate at this restaurant twice, for dinner and breakfast. It is very pleasant, with a large patio covered with an awning. It is a simple, traditional, restaurant frequented by tourists and locals alike. Don't come here, however, if you're looking for a big selection. On the night we were there they offered pork, chicken, and fish, all accompanied by the... More

We were looking for somewhere that was more a locals type of eatery, and this seemed to fit the bill. All the (few) dishes are Quatemalan. My daughter had fried chicken with rice, I had a mixed meat stew. Both were tasty and came with some very heavy tortillas. All dishes were GQ30, and with two beers at GQ15 each,... More

We had just arrived in Antigua. The host of our Hostal recommended that we eat local cuisine here for lunch. We learned how to wait for a table. We ordered pollo platter because we saw everyone else with it mostly because there is not a printed menu for non native speakers. The staff speaks limited English. The drink seems to... More

The food was great but there are just 4 plates. The waiter was telling what is available. But we have eaten (incl. drinks) for 40 to 50 Quezales. I recommend that somebody speaks spanish. The waiter can be a bit more friendly.

The food here was very tasty and cheap for Antigua. But the staff don't speak English and are not interested in trying to make sure they understand your order. (This is based on eating there four times) however, it's a very local place and th food is very tasty and the women at the entrance making fresh tortillas are hilarious... More

We found this by accident when we happened to take the wrong street from our walk from San Francisco El Grande church. The place was packed with tourist and the lady making homemade tortilla at the front made the place seem like a homey type of place to eat. The menu is not much - four different types of plate.... Food isn't great - low quality meat and fairly plain items to accompany it - but the price cannot be beaten in Antigua. If you're not too fussy and on a budget this is a good place to get a lunch or dinner.

I'm the dude that goes to local market to fight cheap eats, so to me what you get for the price is quite key. Rincon Tipico delivers! It was 30 quetzales ($6 CAD), for the Chicken and Potatoes, which also came with a little salad, two tortillas and Tamarindo juice. Let me tell you, they have mastered the crap out... More
