We went to a good restaurant for dessert. The waitress who welcomed us and presented us with a dessert of figs soaked in Greek yogurt...was very helpful. At the selected table, another waitress scratched us and despite the fact that we spoke Croatian, she did...not understand us. We ordered a drink and a dessert, the drink arrived quickly. After 15 minutes, the waitress comes again to ask if everything is ok. after which he tells her again that we are expecting a seedling. He politely says that he doesn't understand us and quickly orders dessert. Disapoitment brings us two eclairs filled with chocolate with the flavor of orange or arancini. Where is figs, Greek yogurt ......???????????More

I reserved a table for 14:00 a week before saying I would order the Duck that was on the menu. I broke all records on my trip to get there on time, my whole day was pre arranged I was told there was no knowledge...of my booking and as it was post season there was a limited menu.More

Absolute little gem. Started with cocktails in their bar and then decided to eat on their terrace restaurant. Staff very friendly, efficient & knowledgeable on the ingredients & cooking of foods including traceability of produce. Food excellent, lots of choice, all cooked freshly to order.

Nice little place with nice ambient. Not a lot of menu choices to choose from. We took steak tartare, steaks and tećada. A portions are a bit smaller for the first two meals but tećada was masive. Both were tasty but souce from tećada was...not compact (you could see oil going all around the sauce) and it missed salt. Staff really helped us with our choices and they were professional.More

Visiting a new city, we rarely choose to eat in the same restaurant twice. We made an exception for Mazzgoon, which was excellent both times! Great food (especially loved the tuna sashimi), selection of splendid Croatian wine, and super service. Thank you!

Due to great reviews online, we decided to have dinner here one night. While our server was polite, there was a musician playing soft music, and the space was lovely (we sat in the terrace at the back), the food was just not good. My...husband had veal which tasted strangely like pork - the texture was off. It also came with a risotto so bland we're convinced the chef simply forgot any seasoning at all. I got the octopus under the bell and again, texture was off, sauce was sour, and the vegetables were undercooked. I've never had "octopus under the bell" before (a traditional Croatian dish from what I understand), so perhaps this is how it is supposed to taste. Overall, the meal was disappointing.More

We ate here last night, was a bit dubious about going there as most recent reviews weren’t great but we decided we’d make our own minds up and glad we did. Location is stunning, welcome at the door was friendly and inviting, our waitress was...really lovely and so was the food! They must serve 200-300 people a night here so a couple of bad reviews is clearly not very balanced. Give it a go, it’s worth it!More

Rude waiter!! The whole time he ran away from our questions, looked like he was stressed and in a hurry. The bunny ragu was tasteless and soppy. We told him about this and he didnt really care. The tuna sashimi was delicious but the waiter...ruined the whole vibeMore

Restaurant incredibly charming restaurant but the food is a total miss. Tuna tartare appetizer was the only decent food we had. The chicken pate was runny and bitter. My monkfish cheeks were tough and bland and served with a horrible lemon sauce. But the low...point was an eggplant pasta with eggplant “chips” that were dried and bitter with little to no sauce with the pasta. Truley one of the worst dishes I’ve ever tasted. The waitress was very sweet and removed the dish from the bill. Service and setting was an A+ but the food was an F.More

We were recommended Mazzgoon by fiends who visited earlier in the year. The Maitre D was lovely and was one of the reasons we decided to have lunch here. Inside, the restaurant looks quite slick, with nice decor and an open kitchen. French doors open...onto a sunny terrace which, sadly for us, had some maintenance work being carried out. Their slogan 'stubbornly different' took on a different emphasis for us. It was different, but not in a good way. Our female waiter was very nice and food and drink orders promptly taken. My starter of Chicken Liver Paté arrived with delicious crusty bread for the table. Unfortunately the Paté was incredibly 'loose' and lacked any texture. It was tasty, but a little odd. Mrs LS had a strange 'Strawberry and Tomato Consomme'. It tasted of neither ingredient and was a little like a melted sorbet. My main course was Rabbit Ragu with Macaroni. This was decent, but had a Garlic and Truffle cream topping which would have deterred the most assiduous vampire! My wife chose the 'Monkfish and Chips'. This again was a little weird. The Monkfish was a bit chewy, whereas the Chips turned out to be a single potato cake. The Buerre Blanc sauce was also split (ironically for its location). I genuinely believe that the chefs here are very good and seemed incredibly dedicated and inventive, but maybe we chose an off day. Wine was excellent, staff were great – just a bit off for usMore

A very unusual place with noisy staff. The food was acceptable. The ambience is nice considering that it is in the center of the city. I'm not sure I'll be back again. It seems that they are self-sufficient and a bit overbearing.
