Connected to Oct Pop Tok, the Silk Road Café (there are two locations I believe) The Laotian food we opted for was tasty and reasonably simple. The cocktails were good and the beer cold – what more does one need?

The cafe has got amazing views of the Mekong river and it has a great ambience with comfortable and colorful seating. But the let down during lunch was the sub par food, dishes were either too oily or too dry (crispy rolls and lemongrass chicken)....More

We were out of season and the only people here. The view is lovely, we had a simple lunch and were well looked after by a charming waiter. A good place to linger over a beer ,if you get a table with the view
