After a long drive back to Ann Arbor from Traverse City my gf and I decided to find a restaurant downtown for dinner. Since it's free parking on Sunday we decided to park and go to Gratzi for dinner. We were greater w smiles and quickly seated at a great table at the window. Waitstaff was very helpful and made... More

I have been here many times and it has been a delight every time. I think my favorite dish may be the mussels, a large platter of the shell fish done to perfection. But there are so many other wonderful choices- pastas, seafood. You can't go wrong. My favorite evenings are those spent at one of the loft seats by... More

Restaurant was close to our hotel and came on a recommendation. Upon arrival for our reservation we had to wait another 20 mins. as table wasn't ready. Given 60 degree temps in February there was a lot of night life in downtown Ann Arbor. The temperature of the restaurant was VERY WARM. They didn't adjust air for the warmer weather... More

Had an enjoyable lunch here recently. The unique architecture of this former theatre space makes for an interesting restaurant venue. The service was excellent. The food had some hits (bread, burrata, tuna tartar, daily fish special, salads) and some only ok (pizza). I would not hesitate to return, as the overall exprience was very positive.

We had 8 adults on a Saturday night. First off the place seems a bit over-packed with tables. We had several appetizers ( calamari, meatballs, tuna bruschetta ) and these were very good. It was the dinners that disappointed a bit. I tried the Chicken and Artichoke pizza, the crust was very good it just did not pop with flavor... More

I have had lunch and dinner multiple times at this restaurant and it never disappoints. We have tried the thin crust pizzas, pasta (fettuccine, gnocchi), salads and the tiramisu. While we may like some dishes more than others, in general the quality of all of them is great. Dishes are kind of big. They have a decent selection of wines.... More

My husband and I had a 6:00 reservation on New Year's Eve. The waiter was friendly and attentive and the food was excellent. But we were very disappointed in the table we were seated at. It was tucked in a corner at the top of the stairs right next to a waiter's station of which was the only thing my... More

I was looking for something special having friends who usually dine upscale in metro Philly, Wilmington and Annapolis. Making 8pm reservations at Gratzi, we arrived 5 minutes early to a hopping eatery. We were seated within 15 minutes. The host did not seem to note where we had moved to in the open elevated bar but did find us. Jake... More

Things are a little pricey, but that doesn't stop the long wait times to get in. The food is lovely and it is a nice place to get dressed up for.

Description
Gratzi, an elegant Italian restaurant with distinct style, was founded in downtown Ann Arbor, Mich. in December 1987. Formerly the Orpheum Theater, which screened the most popular movies of the day in the 1930s, Gratzi maintains the flair of the dramatic history still preserved today in the restaurant's elegant décor and ambience. Seated above Gratzi's bar is a grand sculpture of Orpheus himself, the great poet and musician, overlooking dining room guests, while a beautifully painted Renaissance-style mural depicting an ancient bacchanal reinforces the indulgent and purely pleasurable atmosphere. Indulge in the purely pleasurable atmosphere and savor unique flavors of regional Italian cuisine and wine.
