Lovely restaurant, white table cloths and serviettes. Silver service. Very peaceful amid the chaos of siem reap. The meals were beautifully presented and the price very reasonable. Plus the fact you are helping train young people to enable them to obtain gainful employment. A nice change from pub street.

We visited Sala Bai for lunch and toured the facilities - lunch was fantastic, but the work they are doing there is even more impressive! Be sure to check out the hotel rooms - they looked very comfortable, and are brand new. Well done to all concerned with the move !

Sala Bai is an absolute must visit in SR. The food is excellent and so is the service from the students, who are from disadvantaged areas all over Cambodia that go through an 11 month program to learn the hospitality trade as waiters, chefs etc. They have a setup with many 4-5 star hotels where the students then apply for... Cambodia has issues — one way to deal with those issues is education. Sala Bai does that by doing amazing things with kids from families earning less than $300/year!!! And it turns them into Hospitality superstars. Just a brilliant place to visit.

If you want an affordable but elegant dining experience that is also going to make a difference, look no further. I love the concept behind this truing hotel and restaurant. My 12$ lunch of steamed Tonle Bar Fish with ragout and Brownie with passionfruit coulis was not only delicious, filing and beautifully presented - it also covered the cost of... More

Not often in life can you help a good cause and in return be given the finest food with the friendliest service we have had in Cambodia. This training school for underprivileged young children is a miracle and well worth supporting. The 3 stars in the rating is only because of chaotic service, food is great and gives you a feel of being in a cobtemperory place! The restaurant trains hospitality students. Most of waiters did not understand English, orders were mixed up and they could not answer any question asked in English. Communication was a big issue but still the... More

This is a delightful experience. The food is delicious, the service charming, if tentative (we were there during the first week of the new intake and everyone was a little nervous). It is a very worthwhile cause and the organisers are passionate about what they do. We went twice, the food was so good.

For a trainee restaurant this was a memorable experience. Both the food and service was excellent probably far better than a lot of others. We had a 3 course lunch in a group of 12. Description
Sala Baï Hotel & Restaurant School was founded in 2002 by the French NGO Agir pour le Cambodge. The school entirely and exclusively meant for young Cambodians coming from underprivileged families. In 2015, more than 1300 young Cambodians, with a 70% priority to girls, have been trained. They have all found a job within 1 month after their one-year training. A few years later, their average salary goes from $250 to $350 which enables them to reach the emerging Cambodian middle-class. The vocational training taught at Sala Baï is definitely the fastest and most efficient way of fighting poverty and human trafficking. But without your support, nothing would be possible. By coming to our training restaurant, you already make a great difference, with the pleasure to enjoy high-quality food.
