Sumac is now in Otavalo on 817 Quito street near Sucre. The decor is very nice and the food was delicious. Presentation and quality is top notch. Great place to go with friends, family or a romantic dinner. Reservations are a must.

I ordered a chicken dish an d expected it to come with either rice, potatoes or fries as it usually does in other restaurants here, but it came with a barley concoction that was spectacular! Open at odd hours and reservations may be required, certainly...More

The food was good an the presentation was wonderful. It took 2-3 hours, no drinks are offered, and as we went back a number of times the food was the same each time. Got tired of the same tastes and the price of the meal...More

The food is a set menu but is excellent. The presentation is outstanding. Small and cozy. Hours are inconsistent. On our second try we found them open.

We were in Cotacachi last September. The food here was presented brilliantly, and the taste of it was stupendous. And, to think it only cost of $7.50 each. We are looking forward to going back again next month.

My first dinner at this restaurant was an unexpected surprise. Professional, delicious, great service and ambience. The fusion of local and international cuisine was impressive.

The chef is a real culinary artist. The shrimp appetizer was presented in a mushroom sauce. The cream of tomato soup was delicious with pieces of fresh chicken added. Trout was the main courst and the dessert was minimal but just right with ice cream...More

I've been home from Ecuador for over a month, and I can't stop thinking/talking about the meal we had at Sumac. First off, the price: $9.99 for a four-course gourmet meal. You couldn't get four courses at Wendy's for that price. (And we brought our...More
