in the heart of madurai city, near to bell hotel,so much traffic, so its very hard to park our vehicle. So you need to go this restaurant only after 9 pm. well the name is spelled out wrong its velu briyani.. the taste is good, and served in time with hot. chicken items is very famous here. if the tourist... Okay and service is average and food taste also average and okay.. I think there is another branch here too.. might try one day..
me and my friend went to this Velu briyani hotel by the hype created by these reviews. However the Hotel is just Average and doesn't cope up to my expectation. Even a little shop in my town is far better than this shop in terms of service, food taste and the time taken to serve. only one server is serving for... More
Velu’s Biriyani ( NOT VENU) is one of the best places to eat biriyani in Madurai. The food is delicious, the service is good and the standard of cleanliness is better in comparison to other restaurants in Madurai. However, I have also visited another one in Kalavasal. Actually the name was Velu's Briyani. Food was tasty. Service was excellent. The restaurant was reasonably hygienic. Food was served on a plantain leaf. Complete tab for 4 people was less than Rs 1000 ($20).
The Briyani served was authentic Dindigul Briyani with its traditional taste and flavour and texture. Briyani rice is so special and not the usual basmati rice. something different that can be enjoyed
Dont miss the karandi muttai and the nenji chops; never had it better than at Venu's biryani. The kola urundai and the biryani are also yumm

I had Chiken biryani here, decently good enough, worth the price. But if you are busy and could not make to this place, you have not missed anything. The staff is very good, polite and... More
