We've read a lot of good reviews and decided to visit this place. What can i say...this place not justify our expectations at all. First of all greek salad can't be cut so finely like russian salad. And of course steak can't be serve on a sizzler, because the final degree of roasting will be changed. The food was ok,... More

We visited Murnis today. When we came in, the waitress led us direct to the table close to the entrance and we asked/ requested to sit further down close to the river. She replied us that the seats below are all occupied, and if you don`t believe you can go down and check it yourself, which we did. And turned... More

Lunch with a friend to share the outstanding views which have remained the same over the years. Absolutely splendid. My rating included 50% loading for the views. Although the menu has not changed for a long time, doesn't mean that food should be stodgy and badly cooked. Fries should taste like they have just come from the fryer, not from... More

Marni's Warung was the first in Ubud and has maintained high and fine standards. Though it has become much bigger of the years, the ambiance has been maintained. The atmosphere is wonderful with a view right over the Campuan Gorge. The service is friendly and the quality of the food is outstanding, both Western and Indonesian.

My wonderful partner and I found Murni's quite by accident and boy, are we glad we did!! It is an amazing place. The setting is beautiful but the service ! The service was truly the best ever. Michael and I may as well have been royalty. The food was beautiful which made the whole experience one which we couldn't get... More

We only went to Ubud for the day to visit some worthwhile sights. But had to find a place for lunch, little did we know. We found the best gem in Ubud. Murni's was spectacular and the food was deliciously tasty. The staff were friendly and the service was on point yet laid back. They made us feel at home.... More

Murni's Warung is one of the oldest restaurants in Ubud but it is still worth a visit. On the west side of Ubud it is a stiff walk but the place offers free transport in the Ubud area. Our party had duck, pork and a sandwich and everyone was very satisfied. That, combined with friendly staff and a fair price... More

Despite being de spoilt by 2 new monolithic concrete restaurant monstrosities at the Bridge, Murni's still has the Bali charm of yesteryear - The food is not quite as good as before, but its still worth the visit if you like Bali authentic and not Eurocrap

Three levels, all on the edge of a creek, overlooking lush, green foliage. Such a peaceful place. The staff were professional, and the food was excellent.

Murni, the owner of the equally famous Murni's Houses and Tamarind Spa, opened Ubud's first real restaurant in 1974 and it remains first in the hearts of many people today.

The menu is varied and delicious and you can enjoy your drinks and meals and surf the Web using the free WiFi on one of four levels overlooking the river.

Level 1: When you enter Murni's Warung, the first thing you'll notice is the view of the greenery on the river's hillside. The steel cable in the foreground supports the bridge next door. On the way to your table, you'll walk past a display cabinet of cakes and pastries that you should take a look at -- just so you'll know how much room to save for dessert.

The restaurant is decorated with art from Murni's collection, including the small carvings high on the walls.

Level 2: The large statue of Ganesha, the Elephant God, that greets you in the Lounge Bar was commissioned in 1997 and completed in early 2002. He and Murni are about the same height. This is a great place to have cocktails or meet friends for a drink. You can also eat here.

Level 3: We generally reserve this level for parties, wedding receptions and birthday parties or when the Warung is overflowing. It can seat about 50-60 people.

Level 4: And finally you arrive just above the river. You'll enjoy the sound of flowing water with your candlelit dinner in the midst of exotic surroundings.

Murni's Warung Shop is a good place to wander in while you are waiting for your meal. And enjoy our books, Forty Delicious Years and Secrets of Bali.
