The setting is delightful. Plenty of green gardens so you can get away from the road. The food was excellent. We had Nasi Campur and a type of Rosti. Both delicious. The service was very efficient and attentive.

A very pleasant atmosphere with individual tables in a lush garden. The food was very good and well presented. But don't forget to bring your mosquito repellant, the coils they have under each table are not really effective enough. We'd definitely come back for another meal.

This was one of the first places we had been to while in Ubud. Staff has difficulty to understand English, but they are very courteous. Food is very good especially the noodles. Their vanilla ice cream is the best.

It doesn't have a large sign or look very modern or posh from the outside. Once you enter the restaurant which has multiple tiers of garden seating, you have discovered a tranquil and peaceful setting for a meal. And, the food is good, fresh, creative. I wish I had found this place earlier in my stay.

This restaurant was a surprise for me. I walked outside of this restaurant many times, but I never thought that would be so beautiful and delicious. It's a good way of taste Balinese food! I highly recommend it!

I've been thinking all the time that I decide to be a vegetarian. In this restaurant, I found I could be a vegetarian without giving up a pleasure of eating. I tried Nasi Goreng Manas(vegetarian), which I recommend to anyone who try having vegetarian meals.

Original Bali restaurant ,you can also dine in the garden, it is beautiful but bring your anti-mosquito spray! Food is good, classic balinese, and for desert, they have a super cheesecake, with strawberry or mango, from their own bakery, delicious! Staff is very friendly!

Fantastic food catering for a variety of tastes (most of my family love spicy food but we have one family member who like their food very plain and the staff were very accomodating). We ended up coming back to Cafe Wayan 4 or 5 times over a 2 week stay as the food was so terrific. You have a choice... More

I think Cafe Wayan has been operating for a very long time and I am sure it was there when I first went to Ubud in the 1970's. Back then, it was very innovative and packed all the time. Although it is a while since I ate there, I imagine that it is still a favourite for tourists.

Description
Cafe Wayan and Bakery Established in 1986 We are happy to have had so many nice guests come to enjoy our food for over 30 years. Cafe Wayan started as a small warung (a local food stall) where Ibu Wayan sold black rice pudding and coffee to the rice farmers on what has now become Monkey Forest Road. Tourist began walking down "the path" to the Monkey Forest and stopped by for a coffee, snacks or to buy peanuts for the monkeys. Ibu Wayans always love to cook as a child and soon the menu began to expand. Return friends to Ubud began helping with recipes of western dishes as long term visitors and residents sometimes miss their own food too. Ibu Wayan began traveling abroad and learned more western cooking with Chef Joe Schultz of India Joes's restaurant in Santa Cruz, California and also learned the art of Thai cuisine in Bangkok.
