We went into the LaVazza coffee shop and wanted to order food, somehow got directed to Heritage Cafe, connected but a different menu--with more choices but higher prices. My avocado prawn salad was the fourth prawn dish I have had in Galle and definitely the worst--tiny little prawns with almost no flavor. And not much food for a hefty price.... More

Cafe disappointing - fish and prawns were very dry. Staff not at the same standard as other places. At least the house cat had a good feed from our meal.

Had a delicious lunch here and have had very good meals here before but the restaurant is a bit cramped and reminiscent now of a 'kade' than it was before. It was also surprising that with steak on the menu, a steak knife that cuts was not available.

Stopped here on our first day in Galle, had a delicious curry and really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere.

This is a lovely old courtyard with a bit of history. Food and drink is at tourist rates but portions are large. Ideal for afternoon tea on your visit to the Fort.

This place looks nice and tidy on the outside but do not let the looks deceive you. My hubby and I walked in for breakfast. We ordered the European breakfast for 800 lkr. Taking our order appeared to be a real chore for the waiting staff. I changed my eggs for an omelette and my hubby ordered the egg florentine.... More

I ordered the egg florentine. I had to take tea because they didnt have an expresso machine. The Nescafe powder just doensn't do itfor me. They didn't have brown toast as well. After waiting for quite a while to get our breakfast, it was quite disappointing. First, it was cold especially the baked beans... I don't understand how it was... More

Stopped in mid afternoon for late, light lunch with wife and 3 young kids. Nice historic location with oldest oven in Fort Galle which used to supply the Fort with bread. Good selection on menu - both local and western selections. Expensive, but similar prices as other restaurants on Pedlar. Nice selection of children's books to keep them occupied. Unfortunately... We were at Galle and wanted to go to a nice place for lunch, walking through the streets of Galle in scorching heat, we weren't able to decide till we saw the heritage cafe!!! One look at the menu and the lovely heritage cafe board, we made up our mind to have lunch there and were very happy with our... More

We had fish and chips and prawns and both of these were delicious and plated beautifully. Ended dinner with banana fritters, coffee and biscuits for 2. Fritters great and 1 portion enough for 2. The coffee and ginger biscuits very good. They do not serve beer.

Thank Louise B
