For the second year we gave a chance to this place. Last year everything was completely different. The quality of food is really poor long time waiting. Service really bad. We been in a lot of Aman but this one under this management is one of the worst where we been. So rude the British lady with us and without... More

Location great, quality moderate, service poor. Long waiting time. Inadequate information. White tea ( 1000 Rps ) was not served properly, cappuccino ( 600 Rps ) was not even standard Italian quality. This place lives from history.

we were walking around and found this spot opposite the Amangalla that was perfect for bride and bird watching. We saw lots of couples all over Galle fort dressed up in their wedding finery being photographed and this spot attracted a lot of them. lovely well preserved building, we enjoyed our tea here.

We visited a few times to have a sun downer after a hot Galle Fort Day. A must just to have a look at the stunning renovation. Drinks are quite expensive (on par with Australian prices) but the location is sublime.

We (Two families with young kids) went to try out their lunch. With almost nobody else eating it still took half an hour just for the pasta to come. The lime risotto was refreshing but the daily curries (tuna and chicken) seemed rather small and not as good as we expected. Overall, the experience was just so-so, nothing bad but... More

I had dinner in Amangalla after a long walk in the Galle Fort. The place is very nice, an old building where the Dutch governor was governing the area; service good and interesting variety of wines. I had a champagne risotto, which was very nice. I recommend the dessert (I had the handmade coconut icecream). Amangalla is expensive for the... More

saphire tea is a very light tea and not so recommended if you are used to the tropical ceylon. rooibos though is excellent and rich in flavour.

We stayed at Fort Printers Hotel and had 90 minute massages and dinner at Amangalla. We emailed a few weeks ahead of our trip to make reservations and the staff promptly replied and arranged them for us. I'm not sure reservations were necessary, but we just wanted to make sure we could get in. First, the massages. We had read... More

We only had drinks. Refreshing fresh lime soda. Perfectly made. No salt. No sugar. The best we had since long. We enjoyed the drink in the lobby. The entourage was beautiful with large flower bouquets everywhere. The staff was friendly and attentive

Was highly recommended to the hotel restaurant, however the service was not up to scratch and s hotel of this quality should have gluten free bread available for guests. Not only was there no bread but also my wife was served potatoes that had a wheat coating ( after discussing the fact she was a coeliac) Not sure I would... More
