We loved this place - it really is worth a lunch or dinner here. We had gone for lunch and had sat outside in the garden area. They also have shade sitting and area for children to play. The food was a great variety of choices, was served promptly and we were well looked after throughout. Worth a visit.

Loved the atmosphere here and the food. I had spinach ravioli with cashew sauce. Sounds bad but it was divine! One of my favorite meals in East Africa. Loved the shop as well. Very nice quality goods.

We had lunch in the garden and it was lovely. If you have kids there is even a little playground out side. We had a very good salads.

The design your own salad here is a well-needed shot of veggies after any long safari. There are other veg, vegan and GF options readily available. The staff might not fully understand so be sure to explain again!

Just what you need. A garden with shade, playground, lawn, good food and drinks, a shop, a safari company in the back yard, sweet staff and .. did I mention the daybeds in the garden?. Excellent place to hang out!

We went there for our last night in Tanzania, and celebrated my brother's BD. There was a live band, and food was scrumptious. Highly recommended.

The Blue Heron is our favorite lunch place. Never disappoints and the service is impeccable. While one does not think of pizza as a Tanzanian dish (it's not) the Blue Heron has wonderful pizza . . . they have a full menu and it is in a quiet location. Great place for a private business lunch.

The Blue Heron offers you delicious freshly prepared food in very decent quantities. We wish we could have tried their pizza but they were just finishing their remodel of the outdoor oven and bar area. They have a selection of beers and wine that are good and reasonably priced. The outdoor seating is a plus and the grounds offer you... More

The Blue Heron is a restraunt set in a beautiful garden environment. You can eat your lunch with the sounds of trickling water from the fountain and birds chirping while being relatively close to one of the main roads in Arusha town. The menu is extensive and offers mostly western food choices - great if you are missing home. The... More
