Lovely restaurant by the Clock Tower. Great tasting food (make sure you try the local sausage!), reasonable prices and nice staff. Only thing, the menu could be easier to understand (its in English also, but some of the options are not clear). Music could be a little bit more upbeat, but otherwise we happily recommend this place :)

Really pleasant restaurant offering some regional specialities. We went here each night of a three night stay in Chiang Rai. They are good at explaining the menu and offer a small or main portion for each dish which gives the opportunity to try a few different dishes. The smaller plates are even better value and pretty substantial unless you're particularly... More

The owner is a lovely lady who speaks good english, menu available in english too! Lots of choices on their menu with local thai cooking, including lots of vegetarian options and different size of portion. Just at the corner of the famous clock tower.

I went here twice. The first time for a quiet lunch when the place was not crowded and the food was excellent and great value. The second time I went was for dinner and it was very crowded and I ordered the same two dishes. Food not as hot, not as tasty but still passable. Lovely young woman who speaks... More

We came here following the stellar reviews and we were not disappointed. The manager speaks very good english and she was super helpful in explaining us the menu. They have both traditional thai and REGIONAL thai dishes, which we found quite interesting. I had an herb and spice chicken with rice and the combination of flavour was really nice! My... More

There's a lot of good street side and coffee shop food in Chiang Rai serving the region's local cuisine. If you want one with just a little bit more ambience, this would be a good place. Prices are reasonable and there's a lady who speaks excellent English to help you with your menu.

A restaurant near the clock tower, the food was delicious and cheap, it was worthwhile to visit. A good place to experience the northern Thai cuisine.

We went to the Barrab around 7 PM and the place was one third full (locals and tourists, which is always a good sign). The boss lady explained the menu to us and we picked two mains and an entry to share. The portions are huge, so in hindsight the mains would have easily sufficed. Allorders were on our table... Had the cashew nut chicken salad (90B) and the Barrab (60B). The salad was a little sweet because of the sauce and dressing. The chicken did taste a little like charsiew/ roasted pork. However I thought that the combination of vegetables, herbs, chicken and sauce did not quite produce a consistent taste and I didn't take too well to the... More
