Our first year in Colonia a number of years ago, we just happened upon Marlo while strolling the streets of Colonia and had such a great experience-lovely, distinctive aroma from the grill which carried over into the delectable meats and meal, cozy ambiance, friendly staff (the owner came over to talk with us)-that we returned the following year and had... I believe we were the first to arrive at the restaurant and hearing us speak English a young waiter came over and apologised that his English was not good but he passed us a sheet of paper he had prepared with translations of the main dishes - thoughtful and done of his own volition. Our waiter came over and apologised... More

Went here after traveling in South America for a week. It was our last asado style bbq of the trip. Our group had lamb, beef and pork...all the food groups. Each type of meat was prepared very well and as ordered. The veggies and salads were fresh and made to order. The service was a bit slow but as we... More

This place looks so nice from the outside. Open bbq blazing away in the corner, nice decor, decent looking menu. Don't be fooled. We looked at the menu and it had picanha, a favourite of mine, and tuna, a favourite of my wife. Once we sat down we were told that not only did they have neither, they also didn't... More

They served a hard lamb to eat and a chicken stuffed bum . With reheated potatoes. They served what they had to dispense us quickly, as it was late in the night. They did not have the honesty to say that they were closing . And yet they charged through all that crap. Garbage!

After had read some reviews on Trip Advisor and looking for a good meat restaurant, my husband and I decided for Marlo. Very bad choice! When we arrived, there was only one table occupied, and the couple had already asked for the bill. Their faces were not happy, but we decided to try. The waiter was nice and we ordered... More

Dont get fooled by the good reviews. Food is not good, empanada starter heated in microwave. Beef was overcooked, nothing close to a good uruguayan parilla. The bread basket couvert wasnt anything near fresh allthough more expensive than in other restaurants. Restaurant looks nice and service is ok but they clearly dont care about the quality of the food they... More
