I had been recommended this place by a deaf friend and it was a huge welcome break from the busyness of the streets. You are given blocks to communicate or you can sign to them. You are given a menu with an order sheet and...More

This was what was written on one of the framed calligraphies on Reaching Out Tea House’s wall, which was what we truly enjoyed during our first visit there and made us back for our second. The tea house itself is a beautiful, well-preserved old Vietnamese...More

A great place to try tea and coffee. A bonus is that you get to learn a few words in sign language. I was able to practice the little sign language I learned as a child.

Hello Florence Our staff is always thrilled when a customer is able to communicate in sign language...even a little means that there is a connection to their silent world and respect for their language is much appreciated.

This place is a hidden gem and a great atmosphere of silencing and a different way of communicating. The options of tea and coffee ordering is unique and a great place.

Stopped here to pass the time really but was pleasantly surprised with what I found. Firstly, the staff don't speak so you communicate with paper/pen - but this just creates a nice/tranquil atmosphere. The tea was lovely and you should try some of the cookies...More

Quite a unique experience. Staff communicate through sign language and simple messages on paper. Lovely experience meeting local people making a life for themselves. Tea and handmade biscuits are amazing. Take your book, relax and enjoy the silence!

Our Tea House is in Old Town, where, as you know no cars are allowed and motorbikes restricted. The easiest way, we find is to get a taxi to An Hoi and walk over the bridge. sure hope your parents can visit us

Description
The Reaching Out Teahouse, the second location for our social enterprise, was created to share authentic Hoi An (which means peaceful meeting) through the tradition of drinking tea and coffee with friends and visitors. Tranquility is assured in our ancient house furnished with antiques. Our servers are all speech and hearing impaired and the joy of silence is reflected throughout the experience. Customers enjoy the high quality of our teas and coffees as well as the gracious service. All of our tableware is handcrafted in the style of the imperial families of Hue and is available at our workshop and retail store a two-minute walk from the teahouse. Fairtrade operating principles ensure that our disabled artisans and servers receive fair wages and work under safe conditions. We invite you to experience our teahouse and to let us know about your experience. We learn to make improvements to our products and services through customer feedback..
