We discovered the place rather by accident and were blown away by the tasty pork loin and tofu menus.

we pass by this little gem after visiting Gora Garden. never expect to have such a yummy deep fried pork in this little lane. the chef's a bit cool, there's only one menu available on that day. It's a MUST visit when you're at Gora and we definitely go back again.

Accidentally entered this restaurant while looking for lunch without knowing its actually famous. The taste really good and the pork very juicy, the Miso soup nice as well. Highly recommended if you will visit Hakone, just few footstep from Gora station, although abit pricy and I think its worth for trying.

My friend and I went there for dinner, the pork chop tastes amazing! The owner chef and his wife cooked the main course while we were having some nice appetizer. They were both friendly and we had nice conversation during dinner. definitely worth trying!

Near Gora station, we found Tonkatsu Rikyu while looking for lunch. Initially, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Simple establishment. A wood counter with about 10 seats. A prep area and kitchen are in front of the counter. And an old man and two women. For just over 3,000 Yen, we ordered the tonkatsu set menu. While at... More

Doesn't like foreigners. Even with my broken Japanese in an attempt to break the ice, he was unwilling to explain his menu. The place certainly wasn't busy. The pork was ok but I've had better. Certainly marred by the borderline hostile take it or leave it service. There's no room for that in any part of the world. And at... More

Stumbled across this one just around the corner from Gora train station. Walked past just before 2PM and it was about half full (10 seat restaurant). Decided to waste our 2:30 train ticket back to Hakone because this place just FELT like it had to be good before stepping inside. Just one old man does all the cooking and he... More

I will never be eating here at all. We tried to get in 3 times and the man was very rude all three times. I guess he doesn't need to be nice as his shop is always full. Maybe he didn't like that we had a child. Whatever it was it seemed very out of character for a Japanese shop... More

We arrived in Gora late in the afternoon after a day of making the Hakone circle. After checking in at our hotel we were warned that the restaurants closed early, but we really did not anticipate just how early. We wandered out from the hotel just after 6 p.m. and found the first three restaurants were no longer accepting diners... More

having a one day trip to Hakone by, and planned to lunch bear Gora station. Without much research, just walk along the path and found this restaurant with TripAdvisor sticker at the front door. It is a small store with around 9 seats around the bench/bar table. i browse their official web while waiting for table outside, and got the... More
