We heard that this restaurant has good tonkatsu and it did not disappoint. The dishes were spiced subtly and were not oily. The fry of the meat is crisp, yet the pork is tender and juicy without being raw. The generous cabbage and other fermented vegetables provide a balance to the spices.

A reasonably priced shop selling pork chops as its specialty. Set lunch around and below 1500yen, with rice, soup and salad. Standard as good as any other much higher priced restaurants. The menu choice is between different parts of the cut, and with or without deep fried shrimp

We acknowledged the need to try this in Japan and compare it with the Saboten in Singapore. It appeared pretty clear to us the distinction between the two. The one in Japan does not have overwhelming greasy taste that lingers in your mouth. Although it is fried, it is nicely done and you can't feel the grease and there is... More

This is part of a chain of these restaurants - we came here as we had tried one elsewhere and liked that. Whatever you order they bring you a large bowl of sliced lettuce/cabbage to start. It is delicious with the sesame dressing that they provide. Main dishes are mostly different types of deep-fried pork which comes in a wonderful... More

This restaurang had really nice fried food (pork +shrimp). The food came with a nice sauce and the sallad as well. Overall food very good. The tables were quite close together, so it made for a feeling of crowdedness. Overall atmosphere not very good.

We chanced upon this restaurant on our way to the Minatomirai train station. There was a small queue of locals in front of the restaurant so we pretty much knew that it would be / should be good. The tonkatsu was delicious! Crispy and crumbed without the excessive oil, it was one of the better tonkatsu meals we've had. The... More

We've always enjoyed having tonkatsu at Saboten and we were not disappointed again. This saboten restaurant located in Queens Square shopping complex in Yokohama Minatomirai area. Very convenient nearby our hotel, intercontinental Yokohama grand hotel. One of the best tonkatsu meals we had in Japan you will not be disappointed and is a must!

If you love tonkatsu, this restaurant is worth a visit. We arrived on a Saturday shortly after 6:30pm. Since there was a line, we waited about 15 minutes before being seated. Great selection of tonkatsu set meals. Lots of food: tonkatsu cutlet, cabbage, miso soup and rice. I would return here for another great meal.

Saboten is a tonkatsu(pork cutlet breaded and deep-fried) restaraunt chain and serves identical meals all across Japan. It wouldn't make any difference in menus which Saboten you choose. If you know what tonkatsu tastes like and love it, Saboten is definitely a place to go. You can select a la carte either or set meals, all of which come with... More
