Just a dream.. We tried sweet pastry such as one with orange on top, a bread with raisins and cinnamon, another with pieces of chocolate, etc.. And furthermore we enjoyed sandwiches, basil and cheese pizza, calzone.. All is divinely good, you can even have a coffee on spot admiring people producing these marvellous products

They have a wonderful selection of pastries that range from a variety of tastes. Along with this, they serve hot, fresh panini's throughout the day. The seating area is small but very comfortable. If you plan on bring more than two people I would arrive a few minutes early to ensure you can find an open seat.

Once you taste their diversify pastries and sandwiches, you will understand why there are so many people buying from Danken. We tasted some banana/nuts/chocolate roll (amazing!!!), Sakura melon pan (delicious), honey/cheese bun (wow) and a beef sandwich. Definitely going back there the next days!!! Great discovery in Kagoshima!

While most folks rush in and out to grab bread for either dining at home or the office, this shop has ample seating hidden in the back of the bakery. The bread... More

The best bakery in all of Japan in my experience. It beats Andersen or Vie de France handsdown, no contest. Their apple pastry (and also their dark cherry or berry tart) has the most delicious pastry cream beneath the fruit that's not too sweet and not just the cream cheese crap other bakeries use. It's the perfect creamy complement to... More
