The Zunda is a local dessert that you must try when you are in Sendai. It's green. But, don't be put off by the colour. Just like "Green Eggs and Ham", please try it and you will see that it is really yummy. It's sweet but not overly so. It has a distinct aroma.

Besides ox tongue, you may find soya bean 'zunda' flavour in snacks, etc. Here, you can try zunda bean shake, icecream and even cookies, etc. It tastes special and yummy. They got different branches, and you can find one just located inside Sendai train station. Enjoy an afternoon tea there will be good experience too.

Zunda is a must to try in Sendai, especially the fresh zunda mochi and zunda smoothie. It tasted just heavenly, not too sweet and refreshing!! I like this unique taste. I also experienced the preservative zunda mochi at some convenient stores but it was not as good as the fresh one here!

First, let me admit that I adore pretty much everything Zunda flavoured. It's fresh and delicious! Secondly, when it comes to Zunda (and 仙台市のおみやぎです), it's hard to find better than Zunda Saryo. I'm particularly fond of the Zunda shake!

Thank Erin V
