Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a find ! This place is an oasis in Georgetown. Excellent Swiss style food. Cheese fondue was great. One of the best schnitzels I have ever had too. Family loved it. Warm & genial host. Nothing to criticise. Cold beer & decent wine selection...plus all usual cocktails.More

Service was superb. Good all round menu. We had the pork fillet pasta. Lots of meat, thoroughly enjoyed. Food is cooked to order. Large portions. Cold beer. Reasonable prices. Don't forget to check out the clock.

Hi , I visited your place twice and i cant forget the linzer Torte without cream dish, I'm a fan of Swiss and German dish, and this place suits me, I love it. My boyfriend mentioned your restaurent before, and he told me you have...cheese fondue, and we decided to find a day to drop by. My my my, that cheese fondue and linzer torte was delicious, it was beyond my expectation. You have the best swiss and german dish ever, as a local Penangite who love German and Swiss food , and having a hard time finding a Swiss Cafe. This place is literally serves delicious Swiss and German Food, its pricey but definatly worth it, I would like to go for another round 4 or even 5 in few months time.More

A great night out at Edelweiss. Probably the best Schnitzel I had for years (Being an Austrian) this is really authentic. German beers, and if you are a nice guy ask for Schnaps. The place has been visited from royalties to movie stars, but my...hero is the current Swiss owner, who runs the cafe with passion and love.More

We had a wonderful dinner here. My wife had gluten-free beef rendang on austrian-swiss rosti (a great fusion idea!), and I had Malay-Indo style Soto Chicken soup. Both were terrific. The huge gravity driven clock became a point of fascinating conversation with the manager (owner?)....We definitely like this resto.More

My friends and I were casually exploring Armenian Street on a Saturday afternoon. The weather is so hot and we felt hungry + drained after the exploring. There were various hipster cafes around but mostly selling desserts. We wanted something filling. Somehow we found this...cafe although the sign shows alcoholic drinks, they do serve simple foods to keep you going. We ordered Plain fries, 3 Creamy Seafood pasta and Iced Cappuccinos. Honestly, we wanted to order more but the weather was simply too hot we couldn't really focus on what was on the menu. Shoutout to the guy waiter! We randomly suggested to sit at the courtyard table ( i think that's what it's called ) and he did let us sit there and even switched on the fan for us. A lady approached our table wanting to get to know us, she was very friendly and she does check on us from time to time. Even provided us with some maps and list of recommendations. Food was good + drinks were refreshing especially on this overly sunny weather. I can say the service here is genuine. Beautiful setting with the plants and nice ambience. I'm happy we decided to eat here and you should too.More

If you’re in George Town you must visit this place, even if it’s just for a cocktail or a beer. The building is fantastic, full of historical charm and some interesting antique pieces, including a huge wall sized mirror rescued from the E&O hotel. The...service is impeccable and the food excellent. If I happened to live here this would definitely be my local.More

We stumbled across this fantastic pub/restaurant down a busy side street. Dont ask me to find it again, I couldn't. The Paulaner sign drew me in and we were welcomed by a Swiss guy running the place. He was very friendly and we stayed a...couple of hours drinking German beers. Its dominated inside by a massive clock and a pleasant courtyard in the back. A very chatty host, good service, good drink selections and the food people were eating looked very good too. A great find and certainly recommend this place. Not overpriced eitherMore

There is shame in wanting some familiar food, when travelling in Asia. So this is the place for all liking Swiss or German food. The restaurant has a unique interior with old clocks, gas lights (most of them now electric) and the menu is great...in choice of drinks and food. The service was fast and very friendly. Unfortunately it closes on Sundays at 6pm and stays closed on Mondays, so we managed only one meal there. 😔More

Dear Michael, we're sorry not being able to serve you lunch, and of course displaying an open sign when closed is not very smart thing to do. Thank anyway for trying having lunch with us and we hope one day you may drop by again.
