Good place for late afternoon dining. Good value, good service. Menu had the typical stuff. All good, nothing great.

La Casona certianly constitutes an option of international quality at the center of Puno. We dined twice, five persons, and all our choices were awesone. Portions are reasonable, but quality is outstanding. Peruvian flavors are favored. If posible, try something with quinua.

Absolutely mouth watering guinea cooked grilled to perfection. Well presented. The service was very good and the location of the restaurant in the Main Street is handy.

This restaurant was recommended to us at our hotel nearby as the place to try Peruvian specialties. Ambiance was quite cozy. Waiter didnt speak English very well, but he understood enough and was attentive. Alpaca meat i had as an appetizer was great. Guiney pig i cannot really judge,i have no other guiney pig meal to compare it to...it was my... More

Had the Aji de Gallina. Very tasty dish of rice, with chicken and potatoes in a thick, slightly spicy peanut sauce. This version of Aji de Gallina was a little bit different than the standard – the chicken was shredded into very fine bits. The cost was 29 soles. The atmosphere of the restaurant is a bit stuffy. The waiters... More

Tasteless food and slightly chaotic service. Everything came at the same time hell-pell: starters and mains. Pisco sours were good, as was the Peruvian wine. The only truly delicious thing was, surprisingly, the roast guinea pig. Who'd have thunk it?

Dear MsWithnail, We remember your table. We glad to know you enjoyed our drinks and our guinea pig. In fact, it is one of our specialities. About the service, it is important to say that we serve some starters and main at the same time, because it was the indication from someone on your table that wanted all of you... More

This place was recommended to us by our hotel. We have been travelling for a week now with two teenage boys who at times are a challenge to satisfy in the food stakes. The service the recommendations and the food was fabulous. We shared an alpaca entree which i thought was extremely good. The steak was the best in Peru... More

Make sure you ask for the set menu. You can get an appetizer, main course and dinner for about 20 sols. Mixture of tourists and locals
