About
The Martinecz family has inaugurated Tinecz on the 10th of December 1996, the restaurant being specialised in Italian and international cuisine. Over the years, Tinecz has earned itself a solid reputation because of the served menus’ quality, its generous servings and its impeccable service. So far, the restaurant has been honoured with the presence of several foreign officials and members of the Parliament, being at the same time the favourite place for Romanian or foreign business people to serve their meals. Nowadays, Tinecz organises festive dinners, weddings, baptisms and corporate events in the two salons that can accommodate 130 people inside. During summer, the Italian style terrace of the restaurant can accommodate up to 100 people.

I was looking for a clean place to have a traditional soup and this was the forth place I tried. The first one was Restaurant Timișoreana, closed for renovations, the second one, Lloyd, was a fancy center located amd overpriced restaurat, the third one, very recommended, called Curtea Berarilor didnt serve soups after 6 pm. There another one called Nora, but was way off my reach therefore I had to try this one, and proved well worth it. They had everything you could think of and very accommodating.
Nice terrace, very friendly staff, my waitress, a blode lady was top notch. Very fast service with lits of smiles. I had plenty of soups to chose for. I picked beans with smoked bacon soup and a traditional stew with polenta called Tochitura and pickles. Both delicios. I dont drink therefore I had a green team as well.
Prices are very good, I checked.
The restaurant is not in the centre, it is about 2 kilometers from the centre, 30 minuts walk or 10 minutes driving. I drove. This is the only turn off but this is the reason the place is not very busy and prices are lower than the restaurants prime located lile Carul Berarilor.
Go and enjoy a good dinner while visiting this beautiful city!

We are a couple which visit regularly for the last 2 years. The restaurant was renovated in 2019 and now has a more modern and casual feeling. The food is good in general and they have a great meal of the day. I think their signature dishes are the Tinecz burger and the romanian desert Papanasi. But my favorite dish so far is the Chicken breast with a sauce made out of peaches and sour cream. The staff is very friendly.

My boyfriend had the 'juicy beef burger menu' and I only had dessert, the chocolate crepes with cream sauce. The beef was not 'juicy' as described in the menu. He did not like the burger as it was very dry nor did he like the potatoes, however the 2 side sauces were good. My dessert was ok, but I would hace prefered the cream sauce more 'creamy' rather than dry as you can also see in the images I attached.
The service was nice, although we waited a bit longer for the food ( 50 min) - it was not a problem to us.
We would not recommend this restaurant as there are much better options within the price/dishes range.

I had dinner here last weekend with some friends, place looks better after recent renovation.
As main dish, I had the fish plate but it wasn't very good, the fish felt fresh but the taste was pretty bland, no salt, everything was just fried in corn flour. The rice which was the side dish felt only boiled in water without salt.
We had also pancake for dessert with chestnut puree and homemade wipped cream but it was very bad, dough was not cooked enough, could not eat it entirely.
Overall, we had a pretty disappointing dinner, service was very slow, took some time to receive our order, prices kind of high, not a place I could recommed.

Very tasty & fresh food. We've tried the Goulas Soup, Beef Stroganoff (very very tasty, loved it) and also a "surprise" from the waiter, the best crepes I ate, with chocolate and nuts, served on a delicious sweet cheese & vanilla sauce. Relaxed, chill atmosphere. I truly recommend. We chose this restaurant because all the locals in the center of the city were too crowded and we do not regret it a single bit. :D

Tinecz is a long-standing staple for Timișoara's restaurant scene. I had many visits over the years, but this review will take into consideration my latest one. Which, to be fair, was very similar to all the previous ones. Tinecz will offer you a good meal for a good price, but won't blow you away with anything. Romanian traditional food done right, but without anything impressive. Right on the average note.
I visited during lunch time, so the restaurant wasn't very busy. For the purpose of this review I had "Ciorbă de burtă" as a starter (I guess it's a starter), and a portion of Chicken Breast with some Dill Sauce for the main, paired with "Cartofi Țărănești" as a side dish.
The first thing that came to my mind when I tried the food was "boring". Was good, I can't lie and say it wasn't. Good execution, but the flavours were nothing beyond basic. It reminded me a lot of restaurant food from the mid 2000's in Romania, which I guess it's exactly a compliment. And I can vouch that most of their dishes are on the boring side. Their burgers are alright (tried on a previous visit), I would say they are the most ambitious part of their menu.
There are better spots in Timișoara for traditional Romanian and Banat food. Tinecz is a safe choice, but their food lacks any kind of deep flavours or imagination. Everything done by the book, but unfortunately the book is a bit outdated.

We came with no reservation in the last day of decembar, 1,5 hour before closing. The staff was friendly, the meal was fresh and delicious, just like at home. It was worth walking 30 minutes from the city center.

Excelent, the place looks great, clean, quiet, low music in the background. The food looked amazing and the taste was even better. It was my first time coming to Timisoara and I will definitely come back here to eat in the future!

If you visit Timișoara and want a nice place to eat this is the place to go. The food is so tasty, romanian cuisine, the serving is good, nice collection of wines and a pleasant atmosphere.
