4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We visited Moscow for 3 days and wanted to try something different. A friend recommended Selenge – Buryat Baikal cuisine restaurant, which turned out a very good experience. We had our first time dishes such as grilled Baikal omul fish with steamed veggies, delicate fern and meat salad, steamed dumplings with meat or veggies, bird cherry cake with cream, traditional... The food is good, but the size of portions are small. The national grean tea with milk is amazing. There are only two waiters in restaurant when we been there, they were very busy.

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2015 via mobile

I went here while I was staying in the Grand Marriot. Food quality is OK, but the waiter only speakers Russian and no English. The menu is in Russian as well. The interior of the restaurant is nice with a part of a traditional tent. Food portions are relatively small but the taste is good. Coffee was mediocre.

Must be the only place for Buryat (I bet you don't know what it is) food in Moscow - and it's a shame. You can't stop enjoying frozen sliced omul (fish found only in lake Baikal) and buuz (local variety of dim sum, only bigger and more brutal). Polish with cheremukha (bird cherry) tart. Buryat cuisine is worth trying!

Thank Mispar
