you've been to them all not sure why these places crop up, or why the only reference to anything irish is either the guiness pump or the irish flag that will be knocking about behind the bar, they sell chips

Good afternoon, thank you for your feedback. Today we can offer not only Guinness and Kilkenny beer, but traditional Irish cuisine. We hope that at your next visit you will feel yourself in Ireland.

If you like good beer and an atmosphere go to the shamrock. It had an excellent selection of beer, both local and foreign, with a great atmosphere. The food was a bit disappointing and the staff could not speak English but if you like good...More

The Shamrock Bar is a really nice, comfortable and well-laid out bar. However it is definitely not an Irish pub. When we asked whether they might be showing the Ireland rugby match we were met by very confused faces. "Ireland? Small country beside Britain? What...More

After a performance by the Kirov Ballet, our small group decided to just hurry across the street for a late dinner. Shamrock provided good fast food fast. We dined on peanuts, pizza, etc. and of course beer from the bar, of which there were a...More

The food is what you expect at an Irish bar in Russia. The fish and chips were better than at most places in the US, but the Russian dish we had (Chicken Kiev) was a bit below average compared to other options in St. Petersburg....More

We had a quick diner at this place on our way to the theater. The bar obviously benefits from its location, as it attracts an international crowd. It's a bit expensive compared to other places, and the service is very poor. Waiters were not particularly...More

Dear Gert H- Thank you for stopping by our pub recently. I am very sorry your experience was disappointing. We try very hard to keep our service up to a high standard compared to our competitors in the city and based on observation and feed...More

I called into The Shamrock recently after a Nick Cave concert and liked the ambiance right away and felt comfortable. Just like a good pub in Ireland. The staff are friendly and the music is very good. I met the owner, Tom... a great guy,...More

The Shamrock is the best Irish bar in St Petersburg, and in my experience, probably the best in Russia. Service is friendly and the bartenders know how to pour a Guinness. The music is top shelf. You get dedicated locals in the crowd as well...More

Description
The Shamrock has been at the heart of St. Petersburg's bar scene long before there even was one. This famous local pub, just a pint's toss across the street from the world famous Mariinsky Theater, has also been an essential part of the cultural life of the city since 1994. Well known for its big breakfasts, Irish music, and live English football, the before and after theater crowds add a mix to the scene unique for a typical pub. A rowdy football crowd may change to an Irish folk session which in turn becomes a crowd of theater goers drinking alongside of the singers and dancers they just saw across the street. The Shamrock has a cozy lived in feeling unlike many of the kit and polished pubs around town. With a great steak and the best Guinness in town, a game of darts at The Shamrock is well worth heading off of Nevsky to discover the charm of Theater Square in St.Petersburg.
