Perfect place to try typical Russian food, inside an Old style Russian style furnished restaurant, you can try all type of Russian cuisine. Staff is super nice, prices absolutely affordable! I would absolutely suggest!

The borscht is exceptional. For main, I had veal which was positively fruity with the sauce it came with. The chocolate cake was small but exquisite, a delicately balanced piece of richness. Most importantly, Gogol's overcoat hangs in the doorway. A pianist plays mournfully through the evening. The waiters speak English fluently. I recommend booking. We tried to walk in... More

The place is charming, decorated like the inside of a house. The food is surprisingly good (I had the crab salad and the salmon, both very fresh) and the price is extremely (surprisingly!) reasonable. We had a wonderful evening. I highly recommend going.

At hotel recommendation , we are an early dinner our first evening in St Petersburg . We had a lot food and drink for a reasonable by US standards price . Three people for about 90 usd with a tip. We had pelmeini and borscht to start along with a couple of raspberry vodkas . The warm borscht was excellent... More

Recommended by our hotel, we were concerned that it may be overpriced. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find excellent, traditional fare with friendly service at a very reasonable price. Our family of four had two courses with wine (& finished off our meal with berry flavoured vodka) all for around US$120. We were seated in a room with no... More

Nice place in gogol's style. Dishes were tasty. Staff was friendly but it was hard to call them. So if you have a good dinner, this place is for you. But don't forget to call them before coming.

Near St. Petersburg's landmark: The Hermitage, Gogol Restaurant offers traditional Russian food in a rustic, cozy setting. Borsch, is fantastic here. Beef stroganoff and dumplings are also nice.

Recommended by our hotel and within easy walking distance we loved the cosy atmosphere and our waiter was engaging and entertaining. (I particularly liked the idea of having a small bell to summon assistance). A good all round performance with almost exclusively Russian food delivered with some style and reasonably priced. they were a bit surprised when we ordered some... More

We went there with a friend of mine just because good reviews from the TripAdsior. You can imagine how dissapointed we were when a young lady at the entrance asked us: do you have an invitation/reserveration. We didnt have but there were free tables inside. Despite that the young lady told us sorry and that there is nothing that can... More

Delightful and excellent Restaurant for lovers of good food prepared professionally and served in a relaxed atmosphere. Do try some of the starter dishes and include the excellent borsht. Since we were a foursome we were able to explore the menu and particularly enjoyed all of the fish dishes. The service and attention to detail were without fault and you... More
