I first discovered this restaurant last year, and this year I was determined to go back, even though I couldn't remember the name, and had to walk half of Nevsky Prospekt to find it - but it was so worth it! There is seating inside...and outside, and it feels spacious even when it's busy. Last year I remember the staff ebing extremely helpful and attentive, this year less so. Besides the extensive regular menu, they had a specials menu dedicated to chanterelle mushrooms, so I tried the bruschetta with chanterelles and sun-dried tomatoes. After that I ordered catfish with caviar and a fruit sauce - OH MY GOODNESS!! It was one of those meals that you just can't stop thinking about!!! One of the best fish dishes I've ever eaten. I totally recommend this restaurant, and will be coming back every time I'm in St Pete!More

We went to dinner to celebreate my girlfriend's birthday. We tried different dishes and had a few bottles of wine, the food was served in adequate time after ordering and had the right temperature, tasty and with nice presentation, the staff if attentive and always...with a smile. Resonably priced for being on Nevskiy pr. which is the most expensive area of the city. Oh, and I had my tequila shot as always!!! Good place, good food, keep it that way!)More

The New Year's Eve party was fantastic. We reserved our places about 1 month prior, and boy was that lucky, because they were completely booked up for the night! Even with the full house, our server was incredibly attentive and helped pace the evening perfectly....The food is excellent and if you are a fan of good beer, you will be very happy. From Belgian triples to many solid fruit beer offerings. There is a beer to fit your meal and your personal taste.More

I chose this place based on the reviews. The staff was friendly and quite attentive, although when I ordered a 2nd drink the waitress forgot and I had to ask again. The mushroom soup was absolutely lovely. Packed with mushrooms, vegetables and bulgur wheat. It...came with cream / yoghurt. I wasn't sure if you were supposed to add it to the soup? The bread was standard pre-baked rolls which was a bit disappointing. I normally never order chicken in a restaurant as it can cause a whole lot of problems. Either it will be overcooked and dry, or under cooked with associated health risks. However, I loved the idea of the chicken with spicy peanut sauce so decided to go for it. It came with crushed potatoes which were lovely and well-cooked. The chicken portion was very small and unfortunately slightly pink inside, which I only discovered when I had nearly finished as I wasn't really paying attention being distracted by messages on my phone. It was also very soft, so perhaps cooked in a water bath? The spicy peanut sauce was neither spicy nor tasted of peanuts unfortunately. A disappoimtment. Not worth the price paid (570R).More

Gastro Pub Ivan & Maria is a restaurant located in the well known Nevski Prospekt (Avenue, in English), in the center of St. Petersburg. We came here the last day we were in St. Petersburg after buying souvenirs in this well known street. We ate...regional food like Solyanka soup as first dish, a mix of meats as second dish, and fried cheese as dessert. Also we drank obviously vodka and local beers. Very good last dinner in Russia.More

I was in St. Petersburg the week of 08-25-2019. I found this place, by accident, during my long walks. it looks nice from the outside so, I went in. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the place spacious. The local food was superb, in particular,...the Borsch. Perhaps what impressed me the most was the service. The staff was very friendly, quick, and professional. I was there 3 nights and the same lady, Sussana, took care of my table. First night I asked for a German beer, Spaten. When I went back the second day Ms. Sussana remembered the beer from the previous day and offered it to me again; I was impressed. Also, Ms. Sussana spoke very good English since I knew only 4 words in Russian. Her patience was remarkable. So, Ivan and Maria is a fantastic place to have a good meal in a very pleasant atmosphere. The food was pretty good, not above average though. The staff seems to be a bit inexperienced. It took rather long although not many guests. Some of the drinks were partially spilled. But they seem not to care because a service fee of 10% is...automatically added to the bill.More

We really enjoyed our time at Ivan & Maria. The design of the interiors is nice. The food is perfect (my favorite is potatoes with three types of caviar), the beer is just so good that even those who don't like beer, change their mind...after tasting it. Staff are very friendly. I recommend this place. The only drawback about this place are tables Some of them are staggering and some of tables' edges are sticky (read not cleaned well). But that is the only minor negative thing to mention.More

It was an excellent experience to sit in the sun and drink a pint of cold craft APA, my wife had a mojito whilst watching the locals go about their business. The staff were attentive and pleasant. We had a couple of local starters to...nibble on and they were interesting though we didn't repeat them on our second visit.More

We’re spending our honeymoon in St.Piter. My 6th time here, if i recall correctly, but the first time for the wifey. We just came across the place by chance and had one of the best culinary experiences in town... all the thanks goes to our...super waitress “Karina” who was helping us make the right choices, and to the chef 👨‍🍳 👩‍🍳 who did a great job! It’s been a while I haven’t been to Russia and I must say the beer industry went a long way since then... thumbs up 👍More

Clever, modern takes on Russian classics. Don't miss the mini fried dumplings. The borsch is also great, and I'll let you explore the rest on your own.
