I live fairly close to Taste of Yunnan, so I probably eat there 3 or 4 times a month. It's one of the places I suggest if people enjoy spicy food and are in town. They have an English language menu with pictures, though the staff has minimal English language skills. Friends of mine who go there without a Chinese... More

While waiting for our next opportunity to tour Yunnan, we visited this restaurant after recommendation from friends. We were not disappointed by the variety and quality of Yunnan cuisine. The unforgettable dish for us was jasmine fried egg which is not listed on the menu. A perfect place to entertainment foreign friends and business associates.

I enjoyed the food very much, many dishes were ordered but they all seemed to come at the same time so it was all very rushed and much of it cold by the time we got to it. The service was very good and polite and the restaurant comfortable. The only big problem was that every 20 minutes the music... More

Its a great change of pace if you're looking for something non Cantonese and I highly recommend it. Watch out for the bamboo booze. My girlfriend wasn't a fan, so I ended up putting back a bottle and ya...it's strong! Also the Yak is a must have. Its prepared like jerky and its almost like beef. Really lean and REALLY... More

Have been to this restaurant a few times this year, and everytime I go the food is great. In fact, Yunnan is now one of my top travel destinations for 2012, just to see if the food in actual Yunnan is as good as here. The song and dance routine sometimes grows a bit tired, (the staff entertains the clientele... More

We went to the Taste Yunnan on the 2nd floor at East Club Square, 184 Zhon Shan Rd, West in the Tianhe district. All waitresses/waiters are dressed in very colourful/traditional outfits. The food was good & reasonably priced. They serve a lot of Yak dishes but the do have beef, chicken, rabbit, fish etc dishes as well. Their English is... More

This is not the chinese I am used to.s menu included insects , yak and a few other items you might go after with raid spray. The service is great but the menu is very diffrent from your normal cantonese, schezchuan, or manderin. If your not into exotic eats I dont recomend it . Also bring a translater because night I... This is a great place for dinner if you're new to Guangzhou. The food may not be Cantonese, but is very authentic Yunnanese. The staff are very welcoming and their English is much better than my Mandarin. They have little impromptu dances. It's clean, they have menus in English with nice pictures. I can recommend the beef with chilli (seriously... More
