Had traditional don breakfast with the family during our visit to Nijo Market. The restaurant is located in the middle of the market, but is not easily missed as there are a lot of photos of rice bowls adorning the entrance. Service is good, with the staff able to speak some English. Menu is easy to order off, with English... More

Size of sushi bowl are smaller than many other places. Seafood food are fresh, but did not have complimentary ginger at the table like most places do. They do have a set that has s bit of everything which I had. Signs out the joint says it has muslim friendly menu

Food was really tasty - the seafood seemed really fresh. The portion sizes were pretty small, however, and some of the staff seemed rather curt. However, worth it for a quick lunch if you're in the area.

We saw this eatery while visiting Nijo Market. As this was listed in TripAdvisor, we checked the reviews before going in. We ordered grilled salmon belly, grilled beef, grilled sausages, butter corn, rice bowls with sashimi, among others. The food arrived shortly after we ordered. In general, the dishes were delicious but the portions small. The prices were a little... More

If you know & like your Japanese food, this is a tourist trap for people coming to a seafood haven in Sapporo. Do not go, there are better options. Was one of the first few customers. Seated promptly. Food came quite fast. Rice wasn't very vinegary which I was quite surprised. The Sanshoku don (3 colored don) was ok but... More

Not bad taste. We are Japanese but probably because there are so many foreigners, their service is no so good . They just took menu from us without saying a word. A senior manager was scolding her employees loudly in front of us.

We went to Nijo Market then had breakfast at Donburichaya to try out their rice bowls with fresh seafood. We ordered their special with salmon, crab meat, sea urchin and scallops. The food was decent but not the freshest we have eaten in Sapporo. The portion was small for the price we paid.

We like Donburichaya for several reasons: 1. Location is nearby from central sapporo (just a few blocks from Sapporo Ekimae walkway and can be reached via Tanuki-koji roofed pedestrian) so minimal exposures in case of snow and rain. 2. Foods are above average. Quality of sashimi is great for our liking. Fresh ingredients. And the rice is fantastic, the perfect... More
