My husband has been in Hiroshima for business for months, and gone to restaurants his local co-workers suggest. This find is TripAdvisor, for the win! We enjoyed this as a little date restaurant on my visit, and he now has a unique place to recommend to the locals. All the accolades apply from previous posts.

Read reviews on here and wanted to try this place as it is very close to my hotel. 5 out of 5. Really genuine, authentic, friendly athmosphere....and the food is excellent. Customer service even better. Everything is prepared in front of you. Nice, spacious, modern and clean. I love it!!

We loved the concept of the onion and green onion. The food was great and the service excellent. It's a shame they don't speak any English. Fun place !

Such great food and atmosphere, one of the best meals we have had in our 3 week trip to Japan. So tempting to order almost everything on the menu! Maybe we should have. I have never seen so many ways to eat onion!

Onegi is Japanese for "onion" and in this great little place it is served battered and crispy, wrapped around skewered meats and in various other ways; all delicious, whether on its own or as an accompaniment. This is a busy diner, and not for those who are looking for a peaceful, intimate occasion, but boisterous and cheery plus easy on... More

Everything was good , somewhat of a difficult effort ordering. We had green onions wrapped in pork, superb dumplings, fried chicken, incredible tuna sashimi and leek/clam ramen. We were surprised how good everything was. Be careful of exuberant use of mayonnaise and the rareness of chicken if ordering. Otherwise a good restaurant.

We enjoyed everything they served, well presented and delicious. We had bacon and leek skewers, tomatoe salad, their special leek tofu, and a lot more but we can't recall… They had a funky sake which was made from leek! However, we couldn't taste it in the drink… As most skewer places, it's not cheap but I'd still recommend going as... More

Onegiya was a highlight of our trip to Japan. From the moment you step in the low door, staff immediately arrive to run through where to put your shoes whilst the chefs call out greetings. Sit at the bar if you want to watch the chefs in action. All the food was outstanding. My favorite was the spring onion wrapped... More

Duck your head to fit in the tiny door, remove your shoes and be greeted by the boisterous chefs. This was hands down the best meal we have had in Japan so far. Meals are small, so perfect for sharing. Everything we ordered was good. Everything! And so reasonably priced. The only slight issue, for anyone who isn't used to... More
