Unfortunately not everyone can understand the culture and the food that Chihana provide. The ingredients, the seasonality and the taste of the dishes are out of this world. If someone does not understand it better go to Pizza Express or Monster Sushi. The ambiance send...More

The food was bland, badly prepared, showing no technique nor effort. It was the worst meal we had in Japan and the most expensive (£150 each). A glass of orange juice for dessert says it all.

Couldn't have agreed more with the previous reviewers. If you are expecting a 3 star Michelin experience you will be very disappointed. The food was very ordinary and also very much over priced. Definitely avoid.

After eating amazing Kaiseki cuisine in Kyoto for 6 days, we decided to visit the 3 Michelin Star "Chef cuisine". From the very beginning when we were NOT offered to take our shoes off to the last drop of awful food - everything screamed poor...More

I'm surprised at the some of the negative reviews here and I suspect that at least some of them come from folks unfamiliar with Japanese dining--to complain about about being served a bowl of rice at the end of the meal, for example, is simply...More

Not worthy of 3 star Michelin. The restaurant is hidden behind a narrow alley fronted by a souvenir shop and a Japanese slippers shop . Hard to find . As for ambience there is none. Small counter enough for 4-6 people 1-2 small room downstairs...More

entertainment restaurants are closed to foreigners,
Geiko and Maiko in their traditional makeup with
gilded hair in full kimono can be seen drifting the
streets on their way to and from work, where they fan
dance, sing, and play instruments for customers. Gion
