My friend recommended this restaurant to me. It is popular among the locals according to his sister living in Japan and her husband is a Japanese. For those restaurants specialized in BBQ meat are usually located within buildings. But this restaurant occupies a nicely designed...Japanese-style house with well decorated garden. We chose the BBQ set comprising different portions of a cow. All delicious including beef sashimi which was my first try. The dish was served one by one and each with explanation by the staff. Fair to say: very poor communication skills, even to the point they make a note in their website saying that English speaking staff may not be available and some branches like Kyoto Station has no one speaks English. Reservations is outright impossible for the whole...week and you can only come after 9:30pm to be waited. Food is mediocre and bland. Mind you Wagyu beef is too rich to be devoured in large quantities without rice so it may not like your typical Korean BBQ experience. No service at all in this area and you are left to play with the fire and the meat. Go to a proper Teppanyaki if you can afford it.More

It is the best Japanese Wagyu Beef BBQ restaurant. If you want to come, you definitely have to make a reservation in advance. The dining space is very big and even it's a BBQ restaurant, I didn't smell any BBQ smell inside, super clean. Even...the portion is not big but the price is still acceptable. I might suggest to order the original flavor beef instead of flavored ones. If I could only go to visit one restaurant in Kyoto, here would definitely be my choice. They have 3 branches, if you couldn't book a table, you can try to call another branch.More

If you are a vegetarian or more: this is not the restaurant for you! For all meat lovers: go for it!!! All 10 courses are focused on meat in all kind of variations - some courses are bbq'ed on the table by yourself. Excellent meat..., very nice service! Wine list is okay, could be improved but you'll find a bottle at a reasonable price. A very good dessert is served in another room which was kind of nice.More

Ohh..... The beef in Japan is amazing.... You will say that after you leave the restaurant. The beef is self is like melting on your mouth, The sauce was also nice. must go here.

After eating at so many different BBQ restaurants, we've decided that this was by far our favorite. We almost couldn't get a reservation at all, but they squeezed us in toward the end of the night. The meat quality is outstanding. Even the way it's...served is picture perfect. You almost don't want to disturb it, but then your stomach growls and all of a sudden the meat is on the grill. The wagyu sushi was SO delicious, we had to order another portion. To my surprise, the beef tongue was one of my favorites. I've never tried it grilled - only smoked. Such tender and flavorful little cubes. The dining culture in Japan always fascinates me. The service is always wonderful, but here... even more so than usual. We had a private room with a beautiful view of the Japanese garden. What a fantastic experience. I hope to go back someday!More

We were recommended this restaurant by the guide we had on a geisha tour. It was truly magnificent. We ordered one of the set meals and the delicious appetizers, side dishes and every style of beef you could imagine appeared. We sat at a Japanese...table with a charcoal bbq in front of us and cooked each piece of beef to our liking. This was rounded off by a choice of rice or noodles, the ubiquitous soup and a special sesame dessert. We loved it.More
