TLDR: Great night, would recommend! I arranged a private dinner with my husband and father-in-law. We had requested fairly late (a week in advance), just after Golden Week and so there was no guarantee of accommodating us. Our consultant was very helpful in communicating with...us via email. They asked us to change our time (6pm request) to 8:30 in order to book a Maiko (apprentice geisha) which we happily agreed. We were pleasantly surprised when we were honoured with the company of Tomitae, a Geiko (seasoned professional). At first it was naturally a little awkward as we hadn’t yet gotten to know each other. We had the help of a lovely translator whose name I regrettably have forgotten. But conversation soon flowed with good food and drinks - so much so that we didn’t end up doing any drinking games before our time was up. An absolute highlight of our trip. Thank you!More

We were recommended to this place by our local guide. It was great local food of the small plate sort at reasonable price. Not much English spoken but not really an issue with a picture menu. Take a taxi as it is tricky to find...if you don't speak Japanese. We took public bus back to our hotel after dinner as that was straightforward.More

This was well worth the money!! We had a wonderful time with our family and friends. I would 100 percent recommend. We were served a delicious dinner of Japanese fare. They were very kind to accommodate two in our group that had specific allergies. We...were introduced to a beautiful and gracious Gaiko during our dinner. She performed two amazing dances and played games with us. She also allowed us to ask her any number of questions. We will never forget our experience. Our translator provided was also amazing.More

I can’t believe how wonderful this experience was. The room was full of Australians and Americans but it was an intimate group of 6 couples. The nice ladies who take out drink orders. This event is all you can drink so enjoy the sochu and...sake! The maiko comes in and there was a dance she does and we got to asks questions and her name was Fukuya and she was 20 years old. She has been a maiko for almost 5 years and plans on being a Geiko soon. She was lovely and graceful and it was a once in a lifetime experience. The food was good but it’s definitely not the highlight of this event. The game was fun but I lost and had to take a shot. I told them about my kids and how we liked eating strawberries in japan and she wrote me a personal message about enjoying the strawberries with my kids. I hope to take the kids to this event next time.More

It was such a wonderful experience! The food of course was excellent japanese food! It was nice to see the meiko dance and can ask her a lot of interesting questions. Also a lot of fun were the drinking games. In the beginning I was...a little bit nervous, because I am travelling alone and never had this special kind of experience. The staff was very polite and helped me to feel very comfortable. They gave me a funny, special and unforgetable evening! Thank you again for these special moments and making that evening perfect! Whenever I am in Kyoto I will book this event again.More

Overall a fantastic experience. They served kaiseki for dinner, as well as free flow beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic). Fukukana's dance was splendid. Then, she and the interpreter came round the tables to chat with the guests. My table spent about 30 minutes chatting with...her. After that, there were a few rounds of games with Fukukana, and if you lose you get punished and if you win you get a small gift. She closed off the night with a photography session and one final dance for us. I'm low-key rooting for Fukukana now! Highly recommended if you are interested in the world of geisha or if you are looking for something very different in Kyoto.More

Our recent Japan trip highlight was the dinner evening with a maiko in Gion at Yasakadori Enraku. She was gracious and charming beyond belief and we felt so personally touched to have the privilege of spending time with her. The food was amazing, the drinks...free flowing and plentiful, and the Yasakadori Enraku staff were exceptional in their hospitality and genuine care for the guests. If you're worried about sitting on the tatame for dinner, don't. I have a pretty poor back and had no issues at all. They give you a chair back on the floor that you sit on and lean against, and you can stretch your legs under the table, so it's pretty comfortable. It was a very small group of 7 so it felt very intimate and personal. I cannot recommend this experience any higher, it was exceptional to spend one-on-one time with such a beautiful person who embodies everything that is great about traditional Japan.More

The dinner and show were wonderful. Enjoyed the Japanese food and drink. The competition between tiger, samauri and mother with guests involved was very entertaining. Table interviews with Maiko and interpreter were also very good and enlightening. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
