High end authentic Malaysian restaurant with great food and mid-range prices. Ramadan buffet particularly good.

A good place to try some Malay and other food with an interesting menu supported by photographs. The ambience is a mixture of traditional informal Malay with some outdoors/shed style seating with moderate chaos. Seats are rather hard and uncomfortable, tables can wobble, staff generally good but not very systematic in server consistency. Cocktails and wine are good.

Malay food with a twist! We had the beef short ribs, gulai siakap fish and asparagus belacan. On the pricey side but portions were generous and food was flavorful. The durian cheesecake surprisingly packed a punch - strong durian flavors in every bite. Service was not something to shout about, waiters were a bit stern. But all in all a... More

I asked out concierge to give us a selection of good restaurants in KL. He asked if we are willing to try Malay cuisine, and I agreed of course. He recommended Bijan. I then went onto TripAdvisor, and read the many great reviews. Reservations were made, and in the evening we arrived. Many awards and plaques at the door and... More

Love the ambience here, 2 large rooms, one inside, and one covered outside. Menu very interesting, not one of those menus where you immediately spot 3/4 dishes that you known. It takes to time to choose, and it's a bit of a step in the dark. Having said that the food we ordered was very good, we had mainly veg... More

We got lost getting to the restaurant due to the cab driver's incompetence otherwise it's close to a popular area, Lorong Ceylon, and easy to get to. We entered into a bar open space and a few tables and more seating outdoors, which is where we asked to be seated. Our waitress was rather firm about what we should order... More

Bijan has always been a favourite place in KL, and a must-go-to venue for us. We love the cosy and intimate setting of a former single-storey bungalow in Ceylon Hill, but more importantly, the food! Two dishes stand out for us - the prawns in tempoyak (fermented durian) and the grilled beef short ribs, served with soya sauce and tamarind... More

Our order was wrong when it came to the table not once but twice. We got the wrong fish dish and I ordered a JD and got a JW-type drink. Disappointing.

Bijan opened its doors in September 2003 to offer a unique dining experience to discerning palates. The Bijan experience is modern in presentation yet wholesome in flavour. Traditional Malay cuisine is taken out of hawker stalls and buffet lines, and served against a lush backdrop. Modern in its surroundings with distinctive Asian accents, Bijan is warm, yet chic; intimate yet spacious. At Bijan restaurant, we are innovating ways of enjoying Malay food, introducing accompanying wine to enhance flavours and ways of preparing local delicacies in a fine balance of old and new. Our dishes are a mix of recipes handed down over the generations and innovations of the real thing, to produce forgotten favourites and delicious new flavours and textures.Located a mere stone throw’s away from KLCC and Bukit Bintang, Bijan is the ultimate destination for fine Malay cuisine. It is an oasis where you can unwind with a cool glass of wine while the food remains deliciously and unmistakably Malay. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the terrace while sampling our delicate canapés.Bijan restaurant won Best Malay Restaurant in 2004, just a year after we opened. We can also be found in Malaysia Tatler’s Top 100 Restaurants, The Lonely Planet Guide to Malaysia, The Miele Guide to just name a few.
