Best authentic Creole cuisine on the island. The service was excellent and the staff made great recommendations. There’s a reason why this restaurant has been in business for 50+ years. You are missing out on the full Seychellois experience if you skip this restaurant.

We got a vegetable curry and a smoked fish wrap. Curry was good, fish was average to bad (taste was ok, texture not so much). For this to be the best creole cuisine restaurant in many lists, we found it quite disappointing. If you want...true creole food, I recommend just trying out some of the take aways/food trucks around town.More

An excellent restaurant for those who want to eat real local Creole food. We were a couple and ordered a varied and rich meal for two. It was excellent.

A great welcome and a beer. What a super start. Friendly staff, who even made time to chat a little. Excellent food. Portions are large, so do share. Would love to go back. Highly recommended.

We walked in without a reservation and was seated promptly. The highlight of this restaurant was the giant tortoises in the backyard but I cannot sincerely recommend the food. I was surprised to see the number of excellent reviews. The evening we visited they were...only serving a Creole menu for two at 800 SCR. All the fish on the menu (parrotfish, tuna steak, red snapper fillet) were underseasoned, dry, and overcooked to the point of no return. It is a waste of fresh ingredients you could get on this island. When asked why the fish was served well done, we were simply told it is always prepared this way. This is simply wrong. The chunks of tuna steak were so dry and tough I would not have been able to tell it was tuna. The aubergine fritters arrived cold, slightly soggy, and tasted bland. The only decent dish was the chicken curry and the mango salad. The curry was flavourful and the chicken was tender. Do not bother with the fresh juices as they are watered down and pretty much tasteless. It was my first time trying a ladob for dessert but I was expecting this to be sweet, creamy, and tender. The banana was unripe, covered in mashed sweet potato, and had a soft crunch and a sour aftertaste. To be fair, overcooked fish seems to be a generic problem across the island and we have not had a decent (seafood) meal for the past two weeks. It is a shame as one would normally expect fish to be cooked to perfection in restaurants located right next to the coast with access to the freshest ingredients from the sea.More

After reading excellent reviews we went for a dinner full of expectations. Food was fine but no gastronomic sensation. Chicken curry was full of bones and tuna was dry. Mango salad was a positive suprise. Also ordered cockteil but was very disappointing. Maybe mojito was...fine but cockteils from puree (Diaqiri) should be avoided to prevent disappointment.More

We went there for lunch on our final day in Seychelles, and we weren't disappointed. We shared the set Creole menu for two. There was a good selection of dishes, and all were full of flavour. The price of the set meal was a rather...modest 800 rupees for two, which we considered to be great value when compared to the several mediocre meals we had elsewhere at a higher price. Shouldn't be missed! ☺️More

Ambience, lovely. Food is so tasty. They really live up being the best Creole restaurant in Mahe. Even if there were 2 staff working only that night, they were still all smiles and accommodating. We ordered the Signature Creole Spread at SCR 800, a must...try dish!More

What an incredible restaurant! The creole sharing menu was FANTASTIC. A sensation of tastes and amazing ingredients. The Red Snapper with chilli sauce, tuna, and chicken curry with mango salad were real highlights. Service was friendly, staff made the effort to ensure the experience was...exactly what was expected. And the atmosphere in this historic Seychelles restaurant made for a superb evening. Not enough superlatives to describe how good Marie Antointte is. Thanks to all of the team there for our evening.More

Was able to try out the traditional Seychellois cuisine at the restaurant. The ambience was calming and the service was efficient. The staff were very knowledgeable in the food and were able to answer any questions about them. Would definitely recommend for a visit.

There's three places in the world that I love to eat. Zuma, a Japanese restaurant in Istanbul, any of the Hawkesmoor restaurants in London, and Marie Antoinette in Victoria, Seychelles. Why? Because I first started going there as a child in 1975 when the original...Mrs Fonseca opened it. Her grand daughter (I think) now runs the place and it's the same gorgeous colonial style building, amazing food and highly attentive staff. We ate the sharing menu. Plenty of food and a fantastic way to sample many of the delights that creole cuisine has to offer. I thought it was really good value as well. The staff were unlike any other restaurant staff I'd encountered in Seychelles, they really get it. I can't talk highly enough about it. I will be visiting this restaurant every time I go back, apart from the nostalgia, it's worth every cent and it's a beautiful place that makes my soul happy when I'm there. Thank you.More

The food and atmosphere at Marie Antoinette were wonderful. They have a fixed tapas style dinner offering with 5 small plate entry type dishes for two people. It was more than enough food. It was so good that we went back the next day for...lunch. I highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed!More

We ordered the sampler for three people and added the octopus curry. It fed four with no problem! The mojitos were some of the best I’ve had. Loved the tortoises and the rabbits and the cat! The service was very fast, super friendly and the...prices reasonable. The decor was nice too. Overall a great experience.More
