Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food here is perfectly acceptable and the restaurant is rather basic. Portion sizes are good as are the taste of the dishes but if you're looking for genuinely authentic Chinese dishes, this misses the mark slightly. The staff are friendly but they could improve...on cleaning the tables slightly quicker and better.More

I went to this restaurant specifically to taste their well-known siopao. I was so dissappointed when they told me that all the siopao are gone. Apparently, they order their siopao from another company in limited quantities. So, if you come too late ..... chances are........they're goneMore

The food was delicious. I can’t remember exactly what we ordered but we ordered family style and everything was good.

We ate at this restaurant on Valentine's day, as our hotel had fully booked all restaurants. We were not disapointed as the staff clearly explained the portion size, meant for sharing obvioulsy and brought the food quickly and all at the same time. Between 4...of we had 3 main courses and one large portion of fried rice. The fried rice was so tasty. They were also able to find us a taxi back to the intramuros on an extmemly busy evening. A great findMore

One does not have to go to Binondo to enjoy good Chinese food. Emerald Garden surely does not disappoint. It has a varied menu with all our usual favorites. We ordered sweet and sour pork, steamed fish with garlic which we really, really liked (lots...of garlic but not overwhelming), steamed suahe, steamed lapu-lapu with soy sauce, hot prawn salad, yang chow fried rice, and spinach soup. We also ordered the remaining supply of asado siopao, which usually runs out on a daily basis. We left with very happy tummies. Price was reasonable and staff were attentive. And it has lots of parking which is rare in the City of Manila. Emerald Garden is worth visiting over and over again.More

I love the Emerald special siopao, the sharksfin siomai, the beef wonton noodles. Next time I should buy buchi also, I forgot because I was so happy with my cold soya. They’re efficient and fast in serving orders and generous with condiments like asado sauce...when you’re taking some of their food home. A must try in Manila if you are in the area.More

It’s beyond almost three decades already that I haven’t had of this real Chinese food resto. Craving for that minced pigeon in lettuce wrap and was glad to k ow that the taste is still the same. I don’t want to say, but I kinda...miss the (crazy) noise of this typical Chinese Resto. The banging of all the dinnerware and cutlery plus the noisy (oops ) Chinese people who just thought that they are just eating inside their houses 🙄 Staff are warm except very kuripot with their smiles probably dead tired of the non stop customers coming in.More

I’ve eaten here twice and am impressed not only with the crab fried rice I enjoyed but also by my observations of the variety of foods delivered to adjacent tables, served lazy susan style. The portions are beyond ample and can be ordered in small/medium/large...amounts based in the number of people at the table. It is a very casual place; not fancy at all. The service staff of males and females are great, fast and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. My impression is that Emerald Garden is a go-to family restaurant for livers of authentic Chinese cuisine. Parking is on a large lot just a block down the street, I noticed during a walk. It is open only during the evenings. I really liked it and it was convenient to my hotel, Red Planet.More

Thr internals are bland and sterile. But the food is quick, big serves and the restaurant was full on Sunday night. Go there for the food, not for a romantic dinner. Big group preferrable. Enjoyed the food.

My friends and I had to attend a seminar nearby, so we decided to have our lunch in Emerald. It has been years since we ate here. I was still in college when I ate here.. Let me tell you, the place has not changed...from what I remember... Being Valentines Day, there were plenty people, but we were able to get a table quickly, thanks to the servers. We enjoyed all the food except the mixed seafood vegetables.. the rest were tasty and good.. I recommend this Resto!!! The prices are very reasonable and the staff/servers are good and helpful.More

We used to frequent this restaurant almost every month or two so it was refreshing to see its new look since our last visit years ago. Dine-in space appeared wider and looked more well-lit with a somewhat higher-looking ceiling. Shrimp Salad was my favorite thanks...to the tiny cubes of peaches plus the creamy shrimps. At second would be the Yang Chow and soup, both of which stayed the same since then. Third is the Birthday Noodles, where we keep the noodles as crispy as possible by having the sauce separated. The changes I'm having trouble adapting to are the Buchi's missing sticky rice experience, the Beef Tenderloin's vegetarian texture, and the Lemon Chicken's mysteriously different lemon sauce. Highlights of the visit would be their staff for being super friendly with us even up to closing time. They still remember us! Customer service, a solid 5!More

Delicious and authentic chinese food! A not so nice decor (the green is horrible. but that’s why it’s called Emerald) Awesome staff and fast service. That crispy pork with a BBQ dip is amazing!!!! We would definitely be back!

VERY BAD RESTAURANT. DO NOT GO HERE. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. Got here at around 5:30pm, made us with outside for 30 minutes, without offering us chairs. And we have 2 VERY OLD Senior Citizens with us. We have to ask for chairs and they only...gave us ONE for 2 Senior Citizens. And the food is NOT GOOD AT ALL. 10/10 WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! DO NOT GO HERE! Hoping that they would close soon!More

Had lunch last weekend at this restaurant., kinda excited to be back since the first time I was here about 2 years ago, I liked their food. Place looks the same but can't say the same for the food. To begin with, there was no...serving of free appetizer peanuts anymore,,, though I do understand that it may be because of cost cutting. But as far as I am concern, the taste of their food items were not like the same. They were better then than now, though serving was good enough for all of us. Thanks that the service and the staff were all accommodating and pleasant and that somehow "saved: our day in Emerald Garden.More
