Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had our quick vacation with our parents and other relatives from the US, and they decided to stay in Manila Hotel. One of the rooms we had looks creepy but the staying in that suite gave us a total experience. Our breakfasts were quite...good but they were some loud guests, but those things are uncontrollable. The food were superb, the service is nice but the hot choco I requested wasn’t serve on our table.More

Great selection of international dishes. Get the sashimi, shrimp tempura, steak (but have it medium rare), crab, lechon, paneer, lamb curry, and dessert. Everything is good! We dined on a Thursday lunchtime, and there was no lobster I was told. The dining area is clean,...and the staff are warm and attentive. If you are going here as a group, best get a reservation ahead of the date you intend to drop by. Getting a reservation is just a call away anyway.More

This is a spectacular buffet that I think is still the best in town. Their seafood buffet boasts of lobster, (real) seabass, huge scallops, lechon, lamb chops, steaks, crabs and many many other premium items. It's not cheap but you get your money's worth. It...is always a great experience dining at Cafe Ilang Ilang.More

booking a table for 12 pax for lunch in celebration of our daughter's birthday was so swift and easy. the hotel's lobby as always is so grandiose that we didn't mind waiting for the cafe to open. We were assisted to our table and the...staff were so nice. Foods were definitely great. however, long queue was caused by the plastic barrier that has been installed during the pandemic. these should already be removed since we are already back in normal and that all guests can enjoy what buffet is really like--where you can freely get the foods of your choice without having to go through a long line and be served by someone who sometimes is too busy too doing something. The Cafe must really consider removing the plastic barriers.More

Years ago, this offered the best dining experience due to food variety, ambiance, and all. However, pandemic turned this to worse as you will spend of your time in queues as the breakfast buffet is now managed where you are served smaller portions, only to...come back frustrated due to longer queue. It's definitely not worth the money- better to do breakfast buffet elsewhere.More

This place is a glorified cafeteria, and it is incredibly disappointing when you consider the price point. There's a line to get in and lines to get food. You could hardly get anything to eat without waiting 10-20 minutes! This is the second time this...has happened, and the waits then were even longer. The chairs are so closely packed together that the dining area feels like a crowded safety hazard. Some would argue that this is because of the pandemic but we did not have the same experience in several other buffet breakfast restaurants in the Philippines. It's also possible that there are really just some peak days, but this experience could have been mitigated by better management (i.e. Limiting capacity or adding more food stations). When your hotel claims the name and heritage of the city's capital, a certain standard is expected, and this experience falls far below that bar. This used to be my family's favorite buffet in the country, and it was sad to see it change. Only saving grace of this place is the good service and great hot chocolate , but trust me you're better off going elsewhere.More

We had our breakfast, lunch and dinner here for couple of times already. We keep coming back as this is one of the resto in the metro that satisfies our palate. Not to mention the 50% discounted price with the prestige card, this resto is...worth all your hard earned money! Reservation: You just have to email the resto for reservation and everything will go smoothly! Dining experience: Always feel at home with a great ambiance and accommodating staff, that will always keep you coming back! Food selections: The reasons why we keep coming back are the selections of food and the taste of the food they served. Everything is QUALITY! Friday is lobster day while Saturday is seafoods! They offer the best japanese selections, they also have korean, italian, chinese and indian sections. The grilling station for steaks and the freshly cooked seafoods are always blockbusters! To end the dining experience, aside from the drinks, there's a variety of desserts to choose from (fruits, chocolates, ice cream, pastries, crepe) and what we look forward to is the best puto bumbong that will melt your heart! There's alaways something new to try here and this resto never disappoints us! We will always keep coming back!More

We first tried to book our dinner via their reservations e‐mail but we were told that they were full for that evening. We also tried to have the concierge of BDO and Ayala to make our reservations but we were also told the same thing....So upon arrival at the hotel, while I was checking in, my husband walks over to the restaurant and asks if they still have slots for dinner. Presto we got a reservation. From this we are assuming that they prioritize either hotel guests or walk‐in customers. Good: 1. Queuing was less chaotic than before, maybe because we line up once the buffet opens so there were a lot less people to manage 2. Fridays are seafood nights which is great for pescetarians. For us the star of the show was the grilled sea bass 3. Pumpkin pie and lemon raspberry spongecake were lovely 4. They make nice chicken tikka masala 5. Try checking with your bank for available promotions. Like in our case we got our dinner at 35% off Room for improvement: 1. Croissant and pain au chocolat pate feuilletee base can be still improved. These pastries were still on the heavy side which lack the internal light layers.More

We always stay at this hotel. The buffets are always good. Breakfast is an excellent deal. The lunch and dinner buffets are a little pricey for what you get.

We had dinner here on a weekday and while the food overall was okay, there wasn't a dish that particularly stood out that would make me want to go back again. We have eaten here before but this is the first time we came back...since the pandemic and while we were full, it wasn't a yummy in my tummy experience and I would likely consider other options instead. Unlike before, we noticed that some food did not taste freshly made (the crepe wrappers and puto bumbong), some grilled meats were dry and tough, the pasta wasn't as al dente as I recalled it to be previously. Plus points for attentive and polite staff, the place wasn't overly crowded when we visited.More
