We had a party of six and everyone had something different and they were all wonderful. So were the Cosmopolitans! Great wine list too. Reata was already packed when we arrived for our reservations at 6:30 but we were promptly seated and had great service. One of our favorites!

But I could easily be persuaded to move to Alpine anyway--we love West Texas... Family stopped here for a late lunch on our way through to Cibolo Creek Ranch from Marathon. We've dined in the Fort Worth location before, but this was really a better experience. The atmosphere is rustic--you're in an old house that has been converted to a... More

Excellent salad with goat cheese and spiced pecans! My husband loved the beef tacos! The jalepeno soup didn't have any much flavor - needed salt and spice - I wouldn't order it again.

This was a surprisingly delicious restaurant in the small town of Alpine. All the food had a delicious zest of jalapeño to add a zip of spice to every course. I had the carne asada topped with cheese enchiladas. Delicious! My husband had the chicken fried steak and said it was the best ever. The lime cilantro chicken dish that... More

Had eaten here before and had a terrific experience, so we were looking forward to a return visit. The atmosphere was as good as ever, but while nothing was really bad, this experience did not meet our expectations. First the good - we tried the house Chardonnay, called CF (after the ranch where Reata had it's origins). It was bottled... More

A big favorite every time we come to Alpine. Very creative, authentic west Texas food. The flavor combinations never cease to amaze us. Old favorites and new items, the menu changes seasonally.

Service lack lustre. Food marginal. Ribeye very fatty. Minimum order 14oz!! Mashed potato or rice or fries. No baked potato. Low end wine list.

Simply the best in the area! The beef comes from their own ranch and is top grade. Good service, western atmosphere and great food. Had their Carne Asada which was melt in your mouth tender and my wife has the beef tenderloin which was equally good. Don't miss this one if you are near!

This is a little, somewhat out-of-the way restaurant off the main streets of Alpine. It's worth taking the effort to find. Very nice menu with a good selection and excellent service from friendly staff. If the weather is okay, make sure to eat outside in the small garden behind the restaurant. This is one of the best-rated spots in Alpine--and... More

We stopped in Alpine on our way to Marfa. Needed a lunch stop. Was a cute little cozy restaurant. We sat at a high top table in the bar area and split a club sandwich. Not anything like what we get in Houston so it was somewhat disappointing. My partner had tortilla soup and it was just ok. A pleasant... More
