Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took my wife here for her birthday and really enjoyed it. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Food was excellent. Wife had Grits and shrimp and was very tasty. I had the Trout and shrimp and really enjoyed. For desert we had the Bread Pudding...with ice cream and it was heavenly. Thanks for making her birthday lunch a wonderful experience.More

We always have had a good experience at this restaurant for the last 12 years. But after waiting 50 mins (they told us 25 mins) on Sunday at 4 pm at the one on 183 and seeing how everybody entered before us and checking in...several times with the host, we decided to leave and never come back. Sorry you lost a loyal customer of 12 years.More

My husband and I went at 11 on Sunday, they didn't offer a brunch menu, but you could order from either their lunch or dinner menus. It was A LOT MORE EXPENSIVE than the last time I'd been there! We got bread w/ butter and...water quickly, but a couple at a nearby table stormed out after waiting 15 minutes without even a greeting. I had their signature shrimp/scallop/cran pasta w/Spinach & cherry tomatoes. Buttery and garlicky, but not as much seafood as I'd hoped for. Their computer system was down, so we had to pay in cash (so we weren't as generous with the tip as we normally would have been).More

We met today over a meal at Papadeaux and it was a good selection. The location is beautiful and the service is very professional. The menu is exhaustive and the food delicious.

We hadn’t eaten all day and decided to exit the interstate and choose the first place we saw. It was a tie between Papadeux and a Whataburger. No offense to Whataburger, ‘cause they have great burgers, but Papadeux was absolutely the right choice, ‘Duh’, right?...It’s pretty pricey, but both the food and service were excellent. I went with the server’s recommendations, and am glad I did.More

The poor service and the fact that the restaurant won’t serve food on their perfectly nice patio during this pandemic make it so I don’t want to return. I paid a big, fat bill to come from 90 miles away and treat my family to...lunch, but I chose this place because of its patio, which was closed. After paying the bill for decent food, I was terribly thirsty. Waitstaff bring your food and your bill, but if we need water or tea, forget it. I had to stop at a gas station on the long drive home for a bottled water.More

Let me quantify this first. I’ve moved away from Texas, but I’ve traveled back to Austin. This particular Papadeaux is off of 183 and Duval. Simply stated, I review many, many restaurants. This place is at the top for many reasons. The food choices are...simply outstanding, in my particular order was delicious. My accompanying brother said that the ribeye is the best ribeye in Austin. Those are strong words, but true. I’ve had many dishes here and they’re all outstanding. Particularly, in this time and age with the virus around.... I extremely appreciated the detail of wiping down areas that are touched frequently, wiping down menus, wiping down checkbooks that are presented for your bill, and generally cleaning everything that’s around you in the proper manner. I want to especially bring attention to a manager that is on the top of her game, Miranda Nichols. This woman has an eye for detail, and impressed me immensely. She’s the type of manager that every restaurant needs and desires to be successful. If you don’t come to this restaurant while you’re in Austin, in my opinion, you have made a serious mistake. I very rarely dish out five stars, and this is extremely deserved. Please come here and ask for Miranda.More

The server was super busy and maybe new so he tried but not the best service. Food took a while and it was good and warm. The gumbo was not to the liking of those at the table. Seafood platter was very good and lots...of food. Fried crawfish had a kick and was very good. Bread was great but had to ask for seconds and butter.More

Service was great. Food was okay, not sure if it was worth the $200 we spent. Steak was tasty but lobster was a little chewy. We had a great time with family from out of town. May come back and try something else on the...menu.More

One of our favorite seafood places to enjoy a good meal in nice surroundings and attentive servers. The food is always fresh and plentiful.

Went to Austin for an overnight business trip, wen to Papadeaux as it was near and wanted seafood. Sat at the bar and the bartender suggested their oysters special offered that they have every week Monday thru Thursday. The wait was a bit long as...the people behind the bar were super busy shucking oysters for other tables. The wait was well worthwhile. Oysters were super fresh and very delicious, they presented them in a a bed of ice and 4 different sauces. They were the best I ever had. My second dish was disappointing, their shrimp dish was over cooked and rubbery almost sent it back but the oysters saved the night.Their key lime pie was delicious. Will very likely go to their Dallas location for their oystersMore

Pleasant staff. Ordered drinks to start — DON’T order a Margarita! Worst mix ever. Gumbo was good with fair taste — that was the last thing that did. We had the seafood pasta and the salmon. Both were so disappointing, they mostly stayed on the...plates. Flavor was poor. The shrimp were sloppily trimmed. Sauces lacked any semblance of the correct flavor. To their credit, the manager came by offering other dinners. We declined — at those prices and the other restaurants around, why have another bad meal? Now we know not to go back.More

The fish and other seafood from the Gulf were exceptional and the portions enormous. That is my only complaint - no small or half portions. This means wasting food when you're traveling and can't take it home. But the flavors were so very good. It...is a little dark at the tables but service was great and the food will remind you of Louisiana.More
