A fun experience where the drill is that you try many small plates for $45 person. The fish and seafood seemed best from my side, but there are many choices -- possibly I liked the shrimp best though the oysters and the brussel sprouts were outstanding choices. The night we were there they had an exceptional stout and a very... More

My husband and I didn't realize this was a fixed price small plates restaurant until we were seated. It is possible to order some of the small plate options in a larger size as main courses but it is clear they would prefer that you don't. The menu had a selection of about 15 different options. For $45, you can... More

We had 6 adults in our group and had made reservations for the tasting experience. What a delight! We told our waiter that we were in his hands to try all the dishes and to manage when they came out. Each dish was amazing. There were approx. 25 different dishes to try and he kept them coming out so we... More

Had lunch here with our family, kids ages 16 and 10. We were very impressed with the food here! It reminded us of the better meals we had in Paris. Had the hanger steak and roasted chicken. Next time we are in Austin, we will definitely return!

We had "The Experience", unlimited pris-fixe, all you can eat meal. Service is superb, principally due to the labor intensive experience with dozen+ tasting entrees. Food is a pleasant combination of "foodie avant-garde" and "home cooking". Entrees are tasty, seasoned to perfection and delivered by knowledgeable, helpful staff.

We had the special meal for $45 with that you could choose whatever you wanted. The waiter was so wonderful and helped us with the selections and pairing of wine. It was most spectacular and delicious. I tried to see which one was the worst and that was impossible because everything was really good. Each separate dish was such an... More

We went in expecting to order a la carte but found out that on weekends 'The Experience' is the only option. I'm glad because I'd have never chosen a set menu' or to spend that amount as I'm not usually a big eater. The Experience is about ordering about 4-6 small plates. You can keep going as long as you... More

The last time we were at Café Josie was June of last year. At that time, we tried the small plate tasting called "the experience." We had such a wonderful time, that we came back in January to celebrate a birthday and we were not disappointed. Many others on this site have described how it works, so I won't go... More
