We were visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Austin and wanted to have some great Tex-Mex food. She had been to Chuy's and like it but our son hadn't been there yet. When we got there, there were people waiting for tables, but the hostess said there was one table left on the patio. It was about 48 degrees outside,... More

I love Chuy's. The Tex-Mex food is always great, especially the Jalepeno Ranch dip. Definitely go on an empty stomach because you will walk out STUFFED!. Prices are very reasonable. Drinks are a little pricey. The only, very small, complaint is that they don't have draft beer, only bottles. Definitely worth the visit!

Chuys is ok. It seems like a tourist trap with food about as good as a Chili's chain restaurant. The margaritas are delicious, but the food is lacking.

I usually find Mex Mex to be too starchy, bland and overcooked, but I keep looking. I had a chance to try some Tex Mex while in Austin recently and it was a definite improvement. (I've had Tex Mex before but that was a long time ago.) The salsa was definitely not bland, and the nachos were tasty and crisp.... More

You could definitelty get better Tex Mex food somewhere else, but they have decent margaritas and they are located in convenient locations to meet friends. My fisrt Chueys experience 6 years ago they served me a drink in a broken glass and the silverware was dirty. It's hard to redo a first impression.

A very casual, old established restaurant that the locals go to and take out of town guests to. Very good food, lots of choices. Interesting decor.

Call it New Mexico Tex Mex. Green chile is featured in many of the dishes. I have been eating here for 20+ years. The food is alwasy good and recipies are consistant from one location to the next. If you like mexican food it is a must when you visit Austin. Be prepared to wait, they are alwasy packed.

Even though I've lived in Austin for around 13 years, and chuy's has a very attractive sign off a main highway, I've never brought myself in to give it a try. .......... I regret it soooooooo very much. Chuy's is a Tex-Mex Restaurant and even though Enchiladas are usually the last option on my menu I gave it a try.... More

We'd heard the tortilla soup was really good. We had a cup and it's it very good. Different from many of the froo froo one's you tend to get else where. Tasted homemade and great. Had a Fajita Burrito with Boom Boom sauce, very good. The salsa tastes so fresh!! Our server was excellent and super friendly! We sat outside... More
