Seemingly in the middle of nowhere, this BBQ place is superb. I had beef brisket and oh my daisy days I could have had more. Served just on a bun (sandwich) which was almost like brioche, no sauce … delicious. Could have had various sides,...but didn’t. Unlimited soda drinks, and good quick service I totally recommend this place. Very rustic with no frills and selling sauces as well I’d go again if in VA. Lots of piggy stuff around the place for interest. Pulled pork BBQ was enjoyed by others. Didn’t see apple sauce to go with it but it might have been there. If I lived locally I’d be in there a lot and the smell from outside was incredibly appetising. It was clean and had bathrooms for patrons. Only complaint was that all plates and cups and crockery were one use plastic/styrofoam. I get it’s more convenient but that’s a lot of landfill and waste. Cardboard would’ve been better. If I lived nearer I’d bring my own plate etc!More

The smell of smoke in the air is inviting every time we have driven past Carolina Brothers, and finally decided to stop for lunch. We ordered a 1/4 rack of ribs and the BBQ chicken sandwich, both with sides. Both lunch plates came with generous...portions of potato salad (well prepared, seasoned, and dressed) and Cole slaw (fresh, raw vegetables with only a hint of any dressing; more similar to a crud d’etat than southern-style slaw). The two meals were a contrast in preparation; their shredded chicken was juicy with a mild hint of smokiness whereas the baby back ribs, although falling off the bone cooked, were dry as the bone from which they were shed. A healthy dash of Carolina Brothers BBQ sauce didn’t make any difference in their parched texture. We’ve eaten here in years past and found the quality of preparation better. Today’s luncheon was a bit of a disappointment.More

I cannot rave highly enough about Carolina Brothers catering! We hired Frank and his team for my daughter's wedding in December, and they were fantastic - and the BBQ spread was awesome! Frank was so helpful and friendly in helping us prepare for the big...event - walking through the menu options, reviewing all the pricing and preparation and options, and having a fun and delicious taste sampling session! His team showed up exactly on time and were professional, hard working, and friendly. They delivered an amazing service and delicious meal for all of our guests. Everyone was thrilled! I was installing an exhibition of my photography at the Ashburn Library, (just down the street) and afterwards, my wife and I stopped by for some delicious BBQ and stories from the owner, Frank. I got a half rack of BBQ and my wife order...the Pulled-Pork sandwich with slaw. She raved about her sandwich and the ribs were so tender they fell off the bone. Carolina Brothers is located on the W&OD Trail, making it a good place for a pit stop on a long bike ride. Barbeque is the kind of food that seems intended to be served in a shack with outdated furnishings and thin napkins, and Carolina...Brothers fits that image. The dining room is nicer than you'd expect from the outside, while maintaining the antique decor feel. The food itself is excellent, with the pulled pork and sauces tasting like the BBQ I've had in North Carolina. The cornbread was especially notable, moist and tasting almost like cake, rather than the dry and crumbly texture it typically has.More

I decided to do a 90 mile ride front to back on the W&OD trail. 60 miles in I stopped by Carolina Brothers for possibly one of the best meals ever. I needed some calories and I had an amazingly good BBQ pork sandwich, green...beans, baked beans and a soda for $11!!! Delicious and so appreciated the affordable price. Great staff too.More

Got the chicken platter with baked beans and Mac and cheese and it was so good. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always great. The employees were very kind and had great customer service. Everything seems great under the new ownership. They said...the food won’t be changing which I’m very happy about. They’ll be adding some new additions which I’m excited to see.More

I loved this place. Just a small restaurant with plenty of indoor seating. The ribs were excellent. I ordered half slab with two sides. The ribs were moist and juicy with plenty of meat on the bones. The baked beans were good with plenty of...spice. The coleslaw was like home made. The prices of all meals were very reasonable. The two people working there were very friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them.More

NC Native here and a bit of "BBQ snob." The meat holds it own against plenty of the legacy establishments in Eastern NC. Sides, especially the slaw, beans, and Mac and cheese are excellent. They don't try to make BBQ something its not, and hit...all the right notes. The place is also clean and affordable - I will be back.More
