I'm not sure that Mexican food is a good descriptor for their menu but gourmet certainly fits. Although a number of standard Mexican dishes are on the menu, the predominate items are gourmet items that don't quiet fit any classification. I've been there only twice but both visits were exceptional. My orders included scallops in a tamarind/zucchini sauce and a... More

/about the best I have ever had. 6 or 7 large ones with delicious sauce with beans and small salad all on the plate. I also had the tortilla soup and that was very good. A box for take home was a must in this case

This is a relative newcomer to Anacortes, may be only 8-9 years (but I'm not good at remembering that stuff). I didn't think it would make it at first as its menu was more upscale and a bit more expensive. Now I go there fairly frequently and we will take out of town visitors there if they like Mexican food.... More

This is an upscale Mexican restaurant in a town that has others that do not come close to matching its quality or presentation. The food is well plated, and efficiently served in well decorated surroundings. The back room with its bar is great for well made drinks and the curtained booths in that back room allow romantic dining in semi-privacy.... More

My hubby and I were terribly hungry and wanted to share something. He asked if we could get chicken nachos and they said SURE. They confirmed that we wanted sour cream, guacamole and just like that they server us what we asked for without it being on the menu. The people here were lovely and I want to thank them... More

We decided on eating at Frida's Gourmet Mexican Cuisine after touring Whidbey Island. We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp fajitas, and beef enchiladas; they all were extremely delicious! The menu was expansive, and had the traditional Mexican food as well as some other interesting items. The dishes came with multiple sides (coleslaw, rice, beans, etc.), which added to the great... This is not your typical Tex-Mex style eatery. The dishes are what you might find in Mexico. Have eaten dinner here twice and both times, serve and food were very good

We happened to see this restaurant while in Anacortes the other day and decided to go in. It's full name is Frida's Gourmet Mexican Cuisine. Gourmet is a word that is often overused or even misused so we were skeptical, but the ambiance looked nice. The menu selection was vast and it had things on it that are normally missing... More

It is fitting that this mexican restaurant is dedicated to two artists, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, because the chef here too is an artist. I am still dreaming of the Chiles en Nogada (stuffed peppers in creamy walnut sauce). The addition of crunchy pomegranates to the dish was genius. The chicken tacos were extraordinary too, and were served with... More

Lovely romantic ambiance sets the stage for a delightful Mexican dinner. The taco chips are warm, thin and crunchy!! Yummy I had the enchiladas and my friend had the tamales. Both were quite tasty!
