I absolutely have to give Cantina da Lua 5 stars, for reasons I’ll explain. However, you might well have a different experience; it’s that kind of place. The first time I stopped here was during the day: the per-kilo buffet inside didn’t look appetizing, but I got a table outside—the last one open—facing the Largo de Jesus, had a beer... More

Much to our surprise the old part of Salvador has very few cafes with outdoor seating on the largely pedestrianized streets. This venue is hailed as the "place to be seen" by one local tourist pamphlet, but that's probably more down to its location on the main square than anything special provided by the owners. Most of the other customers... More

The positive news is its good location, as noted by other reviewers. However, food quality and selection is far below what one would expect at a por kiilo charging this much. The placing of the buffet table means that you have two lines going in opposite directions in a narrow space where there should only be one. The result is... More

Went to this restaurant on my first night in Salvador. I opted for the per kilo option where you help yourself to the buffet and then the price is based on the weight of your plate. The food was cold, luke warm at best and the meats and salads were dry, although there was a good selection of food. Also... More

I went there my first night in Salvador. You have two options, the self service, so the price is based on the weight of the dish, or you order the menu. I was wishing to eat moqueca, typical food from Nordeste, and so I did, ordering from the menu. Every night you have live music, that makes the atmosphere very... More

During the day, this place has an ok kilo buffet, although it's not really the cheapest or best option around. This place is great at night though: they serve up a proper caipirinha (not too weak, not too strong) and an equally good cravinho caipirinha. Also, I'm not sure of the schedule, but they frequently have live artists performing. If... More

First i must laugh at the reviewers ordering burgers at this place. Please next time go to Barra Shopping where they have Bob`s or Burger King. I liked this place and the buffet is fresh with a good price of 30 reais/kilo.Their speciality is different kinds of veggies, sallad, bean stew, meat, chicken and rice dishes. Dont order burger as it aint their trade... More
