My husband and I shared the bacalhau dish and we both said it was the best one we have ever had. It was so flavorful!

We arrived hungry. Lovely colonial restaurant with open windows and hand painted walls. Food had lovely presentation and attractive options. We both had a ceasar salad then filet mignon with most most delicious risotto I have ever eaten followed by caramelised banana and chocolate ice cream. Wine was also well priced . Do go here. It's got charm, good service... More

Nice gardens surround this restaurant set in a traditional house of Brazilian Imperial times. Good food and friendly staff.

This dining room, in a large hotel, looks like it could have served the monarchy. The food was perhaps above average, but the service was poor. There were so few diners there that the overall scene was depressing. There are difficult stairs needed to get to the restrooms

Whenever visiting the "Imperial City" of Petrópolis, in the mountains near Rio de Janeiro, dining at "Imperatriz Leopoldina" is absolutely a must! At the completely renovated "Hotel Solar do Império", a beautiful neoclassical mansion, you will find "Imperatriz Leopoldina", a first class restaurant named after Brazil's first Empress. Belgian Chef Bertrand Materne and his inspired menu will certainly surprise you,... More

This is my favourite restaurant in Petropolis. The atmosphere is relaxed and the building is gorgeous. You don`t pay as much as in other fancy places in the neighbouring Itaipava or Araras, and you get very good food. Also, they have good deals for lunch on weekdays - these are very hard to beat. Maybe you can get better food... More

I highly enjoyed my meal at this place. The food was great, everything was something i wasn't used to. The meat was well cooked, the sauce was delicious, the wine was good and there was a good amount of choice in this regard and the desert was worth writing about. The place itself is well located and the dining hall... More

Located in the best location in town, part of the Solar do Imperio hotel, this restaurant has all ingredients to be the best top option in town. Nevertheless, service is so poor and unoredictable that the results is usually disappointing. Menu is good, although it should change more often, and the dishes are well prepared and presented. But as said,... More

Great place, beautiful historical building, but with a full house, dishes came out cold and poorly cooked. The steak was completely overcooked, the risotto was raw. It has potential, but our first impression was not good.
