I went to Zaza with a group of friends on a Friday night. We had reservations so we didn't have to wait. The environment is cozy: little light and nice background music. On the upper level you are asked to take off your shoes as you step on the carpet. The service was good, and the food delicious. The prices... More

We had ceviche for starters, with a glass of "caupiginger" then the grilled steak and fishermen stew. I asked for steak medium-rare and it was cooked how I love it. Easy also to make changes with the sides. Very friendly hostess and staff. Recommended pick in Rio.

Zaza Bistro is a fantastic contemporary Brazilian restaurant in Ipanema. The food was delicious. The décor is eclectic and if you sit upstairs you have to take off your shoes and sit at low, Moroccan-style tables. I had the Moqueca Caiçara and it was out of this world. The ingredients were super fresh. When I return to Rio I will... More

Of all the restaurants I've eaten, in all the countries I've visited, this place tops my list. Absolutely perfect in every way and a MUST if you are in Rio.

We had a lovely dinner here on our 2nd night in Rio. We were tempted by the TripAdvisor reviews and it did not disappoint. We opted for the Brazilian Sauvignon Blanc at 95 real, which was simple and refreshing. The lamb shoulder with ravioli was divine and just fell apart in the mouth - they say they cook it for... We ate here one night during our stay in Rio. The restaurant is very popular, reserve ahead if you wish to sit outside. We had the chicken curry which was just delicious. The serving is enough for two people if you are not big eaters. Highly recommended by Oldbackpack

Great little place, the food is perfectly executed and always has a little Brazilian twist to it. The staff are very friendly. Ipanema's dining scene is not spectacular compared to other cities but Zaza is definitely the exception

The bistro is a great example of local Rio at its best. It is colourful, well attended by locals and overwhelmingly friendly and helpful staff including Andrea on reception. The food was both varied and delicious. The lamb, the cod and the chicken curry were all spot on. Menu reasonably priced and good wine. Overall an excellent experience.

Zaza is a must in Rio. Good food, great atmosphere, lovely veranda. Start with a cocktail (Zaza fresco is my favorite) and ask for the covert (unmissable), make sure you order as many starters as possible and if you still have appetite for a whole main course, order the pulp, the fish with banana or the organic chicken curry. The... More
